  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Daniel 6:1-3 King James Version (KJV)
6 It pleased Darius to set over the kingdom an hundred and twenty princes, which should be over the whole kingdom;

2 And over these three presidents; of whom Daniel was first: that the princes might give accounts unto them, and the king should have no damage.

3 Then this Daniel was preferred above the presidents and princes, because an excellent spirit was in him; and the king thought to set him over the whole realm.

Daniel 6:1-3 New English Translation (NET Bible)
Daniel is Thrown into a Lions’ Den

6 It seemed like a good idea to Darius to appoint over the kingdom 120 satraps who would be in charge of the entire kingdom. 2 Over them would be three supervisors, one of whom was Daniel. These satraps were accountable to them, so that the king’s interests might not incur damage. 3 Now this Daniel was distinguishing himself above the other supervisors and the satraps, for he had an extraordinary spirit. In fact, the king intended to appoint him over the entire kingdom.

These are my thoughts, please share yours.

1 So Darius has this plan to people these men in charge to aid him they would answer to him but have a control of things for him. The kingdom of Babylon had fallen away so Daniel being third in charge no longer mattered and may have even been a negative to the new king.

2 Daniel even though he should not have had favor he was one of three men that answered directly to the king for the satraps. For Daniel to gain this favor was because of the Lord to allow him to be used.

3 The king even thinks of moving him from there Daniel tries to hide who he is because he did not want tot hated by the others but he could not it and they were seeing thru him, if we are truly servants of the Lord then we can’t hide it people will know that something is different about us.
