Q:What makes a study bible better than a regular bible?
A:It allows one to get an explanation of God Word that makes sense. We want someone to explain God's Word, and intrepret the meaning for us. The problem is what make sense today will be replaced with something which makes even better sense tommorrow.
How do you know if what is being told you is proper doctrine? The Holy Spirit will guide you to the truth? If that was the case no believer would have to worry because the Holy Spirit would always steer the believer away from believing in improper or false explanations and towards the correct one.
The Holy Spirit will guide you to the truth,
if you allow Him (He will not override you in any matter), but in most cases, the person will exercise his (or her) freewill and
stay in error (can't figure that one out...).
Now that is being deceived, especially after having the light shine in their hearts...
Remember the old saying, "You can lead the horse to the water, but you can't make him drink it"?
At any rate, a
good study Bible, such as Dake's, will have all kinds of information pertaining to the various aspects of Middle East customs, Jewish ways and point out mistranslations in the scriptures, just to name a few...
BTW, you never did answer a question;
"Anthony, are you Charismatic?"
This time, don't evade the question, please tell us whether you are a charismatic by todays general definition...e.g., are the manifestations (gifts, in the greek, can and should be, in this case, translated as 'manifestations' of God's love and will) of the Holy Spirit operating in your life? For further clarification on Charismatic which comes from the word "
charisma", see below;
Strong's Definition of the Greek
G5486
χάρισμα
charisma
char'-is-mah
From G5483; a (divine) gratuity, that is, deliverance (from danger or passion); (specifically) a (spiritual) endowment, that is, (subjectively) religious qualification, or (objectively) miraculous faculty: - (free) gift.
I guess the Bereans would be characterized as causing strife or questioning?
If they came here and broke the rules, yes...
Besides, you are not a Berean, they died out thousands of years ago...
