  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Blessings to you all

Anyone here interested in Cyber Security/Artificial Intelligence? Personally, I aspire to be a Cyber Security Officer whether by doing it through a University or Self-Learning. Artificial Intelligence also intrigues me. (Could robots really become human-like?)

I think the Internet is such a great invention as it has improved every part of this world from socialization to business operations and more. However, it is also destroying lives and personally I think Christians have been affected by this. I have seen Christians get angry and lose their temper on social networking sites such as Facebook. I have seen Christians say such things like, "Share this post 3 times for good news from God or have bad luck for weeks." (Rough example to make a point) Christians can benefit from the Internet by spreading the Word of God internationally through electronic means and a good example of that is this forum.

I want to be a Cyber Security Officer not because of pay or the, 'Yes. I'm a hacker and I can hack Facebook' stuff. That doesn't interest me. What interests me is improving the Internet so that we as humans can use the Internet safely without being bullied, tempted to sin, lied too, trolled, or any other malicious methods.

My mind is curious about improving the Internet. I'm not interested in Software. I'm not interested in Hardware, Databases, or anything like that. I'm interested in the Internet (If that makes sense)

So, back to my original question, anyone here a fan of Cyber Security/Artificial Intelligence?

I'm not a fan because its all going way too fast and far for me.

In all honesty I don't care that about my limit is looking up things on the internet, email, texting and on this forum.

That's more than enough for me.:)

What do you mean?
It's computerized it can be hacked.

It's a virtual person with no body, so it cannot be placed in jail, therefore any crimes means deletion etc.

But if a human is in control of using the Internet maliciously, they will end up being punished by imprisonment or other such method and the Internet activity that was malicious will have seized. Of course, this is only if an individual is behind using the Internet maliciously. If it's a group then it becomes a little more complicated.

I'm still undecided how I feel about AI. Part of my research interests deal with 'deep learning', which is a component of the current generations of AI even though my implementations are not being used to augment any particular AI system and are just fancy ways to analyze HUGE data sets with hundreds or thousands of variables in a rapid fashion.

There was a podcast by Joe Rogan where he interviewed Dr. Ben Goertzel and had a lengthy discussion about how AI is planning to be implemented. At the end of the podcast, some of my fears were put to rest, but it also opened up a lot more questions for me. It's a good interview, IMHO, so people interested in the field might want to give it a listen.
