  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

sigh...... I think my little one might be cutting her first tooth.... she's been nothing but cranky on and off. She woke me twice last night, which is unlike her... and to my dismay being how I was on last night till 2 am and verrrrrry tired. And I keep losing the oragel:doh: finally I found some. Gave her tylenol earlier and later some teething tablets.... dont have anything cold at the moment for her to chew on. Nothing offers her relief for long.

I hear you  It's so frustrating not being able to help them, isn't it? Lily at fourteen months is getting her molars in, and it's causing her so much pain. We use Bonjela, but there is so much saliva from the teething that it doesn't stay on for long. I use Baby Panadol if it's really bad. Just sucking on things seem to works best for her, like a wet face washer.

We've used an Ice cube chip wrapped in a wash cloth when a tething ring was not available & Tylenol .
I know this is a hard stage to go through. Hang in there.

p.s. I've heard that if one uses a lot of oragel it actually toughens the gum and makes it harder for the tooth to break through. But, I don't have any facts to back this up.just something to consider. We hardly used any on our kids.

Oh poor HB!!! I feel your pain.

Actually I have multiple tubes of Orajel floating around so I can usually locate one of them. Peanut's been teething off and on & still hasn't really pushed a tooth through- I'd never heard that about Orajel toughening up the gums, but it may be true... Still, it's about the only relief he can get- Tylenol makes him throw up.

Me too! I have six tubes of orajel just upstairs. Another two in the car and a couple downstairs. Same with the teething tablets. I am not good at keeping up with stuff

Panadol is a brand of paracetamol here in Aussie. The baby formular is liquid and administered with a dropper.
My baby is getting three top teeth, and I used the last of our bottle last night.

 Thanks!

thanks guys. She hasn't pushed one through yet. I keep teething toys in the fridge which seems to help... esp. before nursing her i'm finding at times that if I let her chew on one of those with my help, that afterwards she'll nurse more happily. Tylenol might make of a difference then I thought, but it doesn't always seem to help. We also have those teething tablets, those that you find in the vitamin section.... those have helped... but when she's really teething the only things that seem to help is oragel and tylenol.. good to know that it may cause the gums to harden... a lot of times I lose a tube and have to buy more... it's kind of expensive when it costs 5 dollars a tube.

I think Panadol is the same as our Tylenol. :)

After reading your post, I looked up the ingredients, and basic Tylenol does seem to be the same as Panadol. I was thrown off at first, because what we call paracetemol, in North America it is called acetaminophen (say that five times fast :) ) I didn't realise there were different names for the actual ingredients. I think Tylenol is sold here too.
