I am enjoying following your progress. Fasting for God is a very powerful way of expressing one's faith and truly worshipping the Lord. I have never gone 30 days or anywhere close to it, but I believe that if we are properly attuned to God, He will reveal what he wants from us and when that is fasting, our obedience pleases God.

Day 19 ,

I'm grateful for everyone's encouraging words , and especially for the prayers of support to The Lord .

Continue to grow a little thinner and a bit weaker .

... But though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day. <-----> 2nd Corinthians 4:16

It is worth noting that in nature God has created an ongoing seasonal cycle of times of plenty divided by times of want . In this modern age we seem to have largely escaped this cycle , yet , this is not altogether good . For contrast greatly helps to define , and without it we enter into mundane routines which fall far short of the sublime .

Furthermore , most toxins are stored in our fat . Wherefore , if one regularly sheds the bulk of their fat , those toxins do not continue to build up . This is akin to changing the oil in an internal combustion engine , which is largely considered the singularly most important aspect of regular maintenance for ensuring the health and life of one's engine .

Below are a few of the things which came to me today -

Day 20 ,

Hard time getting up this morning , didn't sleep well . Decided to stop the Vit. C + mineral supplement , and go with a little fresh lime or lemon juice squeezed into a glass of water . Got the sense that since my bowels haven't moved in quite a few days that the other stuff was accumulating too much , for tablets often have coatings and binders and fillers etc.

Generally it's best to get it straight from what God has created , especially if man hasn't polluted it .

Which is also true when it comes to hearing God's Word .

Weighing in at around 130 now , a loss of 24 lbs.

Felt considerably better once I was able to get up and move around a little . Had one instance where I felt rather dizzy , but stood still for a few moments and it passed .

Below is a saying which came to me today .

Few can be sweeter than the woman or the man who thinks you have , and will give them , what they feel they want and / or need . And that's not always a bad thing ; but because it is a highly conditional display - it can easily swing the other way .

Day 20 , addition ,

One more detail , found that rinsing mouth with 1/4 to a 1/3 of a teaspoon of baking soda
and a little water , is better than a full teaspoon ; it still refreshes , without drying out the mouth so much - ( rinse well with water several times afterwards ) - ( both the baking soda and the rinse waters are spit out , then drink some fresh water ).

I once did a lengthy fast on water and it truly was a life changing experience. I think you will probably loose the bad taste now that you stopped the supplement.

Day 21 ,

Thanks berachah ,

Bad taste still there , get the impression that my "scrubbers" white blood cells are chowing down on some unpleasant stuff , like arterial plaque , etc.

The baking soda rinse does bring relief , but 2-3 hours later , the bad taste returns . I'm hoping that by the 30th day there will be evidence which signifies the "gunk" is cleaned out , as in , the toxins surfacing in my mouth will have greatly subsided .

I drink about 6-8 16 ounce glasses of water a day , and add a little lemon juice , squeezed from a lemon to one of them . Find I prefer the taste of the lemon to the lime .

Yea , there's likely something to that , although I did fast for 21 days some time ago using this same tap without this nearly this much yuck ! But I might need a fresh filter ?

Suppose I could buy some spring water , glass bottles would be better than plastic , as it tends to leech chemicals .

Also , seems good before purchasing to examine freshness date , and hold bottle up to the light to see if water is clear , once did this and saw a bunch of "floaters" , took it back , but store personal didn't seem to care .

Still have the impression however that my body is purging some nasty stuff .

Yea , while going about the norm , physical food takes up a lot of our time , energy and focus . So it can help to take a break now and then .

Saw an email in my new mail today titled " changes to facebook password " , deleted it right away , cause I don't have an account there , and figure it was a scam , to try and get people who do , to give out their password .

Day 22 ,

Went for a rather long drive today , and early on , with the windows rolled down a bit , my right ear popped , and for a second the surrounding noises were substantially louder , this is a very promising sign , as that ear has been mildly troubled for over three years . I've tried wax removal , and several other things , which brought a little relief , but it still seems restricted from picking up sound , by about 1/3 of it's full capacity .

Have cried out unto The Lord , more so than usual during this fast , and have experienced an increased awareness of His ongoing Love and Protection over me .

To me , prayer and fasting is the way of going to Jesus for healing and deliverance , when less drastic approaches haven't brought about what is being sought .

I consider Jesus to be my Great Physician . I choose to look to Him in my times of need . This I understand to be an integral part of our faith building experience . Also when looking to Jesus , one is compelled to examine them self , and the way we've been living , much more so than when one looks to his fellow man for help .

It's not an easy road , which is likely why , it's not popular in this world . For the body is mostly made of water , and the property of water is - that it seeks the path of least resistance .

Personally , I would much rather go without food for 30 days , than undergo dangerous and costly surgery , or be resigned to taking expensive and risky prescription drugs .

But let every one be fully persuaded in their own mind .

Day 23 ,

Weight seems to be holding steady at a little under 130 . Bad taste in mouth subsiding gradually . Still can't sleep much but for and hour or two here and there . Another thing I neglected to mention is that my pulse throughout this fast has been abnormally rapid , but now seems to be slowing to being close to normal . All good signs that I'm drawing near to the end of this endeavor . Thankyou Lord !

Some sayings from today are -

Day 24 ,

Changed water filter , didn't look too bad . Also cleaned the screens and aerator at the end of faucet , as these tend to get clogged / gunked up - it was a little cruddy .

Found some affordable naturally carbonated mineral / spring water from Germany in tall green glass bottles - bought 7 .

Sometimes the nasty taste in my mouth is so strong that it seems to give of a noxious gas which hinders my breathing , but all in all , it is diminishing , and I seem to be most of the way out of the toxic haze which is created through having toxins purged through fasting - for while they do get eliminated , they are also concentrated once they've been routed out of their hiding places , prior to elimination .

A few words / sayings from today are -

Without time , we have nothing ; but with the Gift of Eternal Life , we have endless time , and consequently endless potential + possibility .

Since our body is The Temple of The Lord , we should do all that we can to stay fit and be in good health .

It is a mistake to think that a concept given is a victory won , for only when the experience is complete can one claim their prize .

The Bible has enough things which are not easily made sense of - that anyone wanting to dismiss it , will find a reason .

Day 25 ,

Spent much of the day stocking up on good things to eat once fast is finished .

Brought back mineral water , seems that " light " water is better , because it being used to flush the body , and mineral water is already loaded down with stuff ... so it's back to the filtered tap , and a little squeezed lemon once a day .

Fasting accomodates / accelerates a good kind of death - death to sin . Which has brought me once again to think on Christ's death , and this is what came to me today -

Four things stand out as reason's why Christ had to suffer and die . ( Although there may indeed be more than these .)

1. Christ death demonstrated beyond all doubt , that our Heavenly Father is no respecter of persons . For if ever He were to make an exception to His Law , He would have done so in the case of His only begotten . But once the sins of the world were laid upon Jesus , and He was then as one guilty of those sins , He received the sentence of death just as God's Word says .

2. By dying and entering the realm of the dead , as one in the grip of death , Jesus demonstrated that His Spirit is stronger than death , for death could not hold Him , yea , not only did He break those bonds asunder , He also set many other captives free , Praise His Name !

3. By personally experiencing that sentence of death , Jesus is now able to judge us as our peer , and not as one who sentences another with little or no sense of what they are actually sentencing them to - therefore , there can be no unrighteousnes in His judgment , whether He grants life or sentences death .

4. The atoning work of Christ's death is such , that as we who have received His Testimony , do lay His Great Sacrifice to heart , it does impart unto us a strong measure of mortification against our callously continuing in sin . For we see The Lamb of God , without blemish , without spot , and we see His suffering and dying a wretched death , and we recognize that it is you and I who really deserve what He got ! This affords us to be broken in heart and in spirit , whereby we can then effectually receive the gifts of repentance and forgiveness , and be thereby reconciled to God by the Atoning Virtue of Christ's dying in our stead .

Though the power Jesus' shed blood is sufficient to purge the whole world of it's sin , only those who effectually receive it's intended life changing results will actually eternally benefit . In fact , if we ignore such a Great Sacrifice , we are actually far worse off , and are in danger of not only suffering the death of the body , ( because of our unrepented / unforgiven sins ) , but are also in danger of suffering the death of our soul - which is an everlasting death , with no resurrection to restore .

This is what was laid upon my heart today .

It is a weighty matter . I can sense the natural man wanting to avoid it , but now that Jesus has finished His work on The Cross , it's our turn to join Him there spiritually , so that we can also be raised up with Him , leaving all that defiles behind .

Thank You Lord for making such a Great Sacrifice on our behalf . Help us to receive effectually the life changing results You have made possible through the power of Your death & resurrection . For Your Holy Name's Sake . Amen .

Additional note :

Switched to a long slender metal spoon for scraping tongue , cause it can reach the back ( top ) better , it is the kind made for stirring a tall glass of ice tea or similar drink . Only take care not to clink it off of teeth . Really have to press down firmly when scraping , and go over an area several times to get most of the yuck off ... And this seems to need to be done a few times a day , as it does help keep the mouth from being so nasty tasting .

Day 26 ,

Weight still appears steady at around 129 - 128 , which is a good thing , because I wasn't overweight at the beginning .

Still having trouble sleeping , especially at night . Yet sense a spiritual and physical healthy purge is almost complete , and this helps to endure till the end .

Love doesn't come easily to us who are fond of covetousness .

Our will is free , but the sowing thereof costs us precious time ; and the reaping of that sowing yields much more of it's own kind .

Whenever we fully give something up to The Lord , He gives us something far better and enduring in it's stead !

Day 27 ,

Rough night last night , couldn't sleep , bad taste in mouth worse at night , when laying down , think body is still purging some nasties .

Pray they've been fully dealt with by 30th day , due to rather extreme weight loss , don't figure I should abstain from food any longer than that .

Decided to add some squirts of lemon more frequently to water these last three days , as it helps to cut the gunk in mouth and throat .

One of the best ways to draw upon The Lord's strength , is to use some of what little we have to aid someone who is even weaker than our self .
