I had an experience with a false profit and it really messed with me
because of the whole power and authority thing they try to
pull on you as they seek to take the place of God in your life and have
you come to them for your guidance and instruction.
John the baptist was the one that Christ refered to as the "Elijah"
who would come to POINT TO THE MESSIAH, JESUS CHRIST.
There will not be another "Elijah" because Christ, the Messiah has already come.
The second coming will not be heralded by a warning from an "Elijah".
Anyway, this false prophet claimed to be an Apostle, prophet,
evangelist, teacher, preacher and any other office of authority
as described in the New testament for the church.
This guy had it all going on and many of his words and prophecies
"seemed" to be right on and so he fooled many.
I wised up and disagreed with him and was cast out although my
wife and I had already made up our minds that we were leaving.
I wrestled with the shame and confusion for months of how
could a person seem to be doing God's work and be so right on
with many of his sermons and words from God and yet have
glaring character flaws in the way that he would treat others.
Here's is what God lead me to in the scriptures....
Matthew 7
15 “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing,
but inwardly they are ravenous wolves.
16 You will know them by their fruits.
Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles?
17 Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit.
18 A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit.
19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.
20 Therefore by their fruits you will know them.
I find it facinating that Jesus did not say we would know the false
prophets by what they preach or the messages they teach or
the works they do, but by their fruits.
You can't fake fruits...
Words can be crafted, messages can be constructed and
works can be planned and carried out but fruit can only
manifest from a persons heart and cannot be faked.
Here is a list of the fruits of the Spirit...
Galatians 5
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
23 gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.
24 And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.
25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
26 Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another.
So this man who claims to be the "Elijah" does not even point to Christ but to himself and
he does not have the fruit of the spirit but instead holds others in bondage
through lies as he practices witchcraft by using guilt to control others as he insists that he is to be
respected, revered, esteemed, obeyed and listened to because he claims to be of God.
HE IS NOT WALKING IN LOVE OR ANY OTHER OF THE FRUITS OF THE SPIRIT.
Hope this helps...
