CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Okay, ladies, I'm in a mess and need your opinions. I know my explanation may not be very well worded but I'll try.
The afghan I'm working on presently, Sweet Dreams, is a bust! I messed up by not checking my gauge.
The finished afghan is supposed to be 36" X 45". It calls for a size G hook and 37 oz. Worsted Weight Yarn. I'm using a size I (i). I can't imagine that the hook difference caused this problem - perhaps somebody will know if it did.
I have 4 skeens of this navy yarn. The package was marked Mill Ends, 1 pound. I took that to mean each skeen was 16 oz. Wrong again?
Tonight I decided to measure the afghan as I'm nearly finished the second skeen and I can tell that it's not going to be right. So... it measures 90" X 30"!! I went back to check my original chain and it is correct - 224 chain stitches.
I suppose I could finish it with the yarn I have but it's not going to look right. The border itself will measure 4 inches so I would end up with an afghan that is much longer than it is wide. Does that make sense?
Any suggestions what to do with it? Or do I just frog it and move on?
