  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Heh. If I waited for someone to crush on me before I got out of my funks, I'd be depressed pretty much forever.

I just need to stop going to a particular store where a particular woman works as a cashier, really. I did have a crush on her, once upon a time. Thankfully, a short one. But it still reminds me of just how hopelessly single I am when I see her, and then it takes me a couple of days to get over it.

If I stopped going to places where I was reminded of that, I'd become a legitimate hermit.

I think the worst part for me is that now that I'm twenty-seven, people have stopped saying "It's okay, you've got time." Now my parents are starting to wonder if there's something wrong with me that's preventing me from finding a woman. I've been trying to convince them for the past six years that it's because I'm disabled.

I cant stand when people say, "No boyfriend yet? Why?". If I knew I'm sure I wouldnt be single.

You're not alone Rob. I'll be 29 this year and well I haven't even had my first bf.

I know people in there 30's that aren't with anybody and some in their mid 30's that just have gotten married.

The right girl will not mind your disability.:)
In fact, a handful of some guys I've liked in the past has had a disability.

I understand where you're coming from though. I feel the same way about my weight....

As a single person, can most of you say that you are happy?
I'm miserable. :sadd: But I also know that there are more important priorities right now than getting into a relationship. :)

I'm happy :)

That's good :)

In truth I can say I have my ups and downs, but I can't say that my happiness counts on the the fact that I have someone in my life. It's what I do with my life that makes me happy.

This is how I feel, sometimes I have ups and downs, but for the most part I am happy with where I'm at.

I'm miserable. :sadd: But I also know that there are more important priorities right now than getting into a relationship. :)

:( Aw. Hope you're not miserable for long!

Usually - and generally - yes. Right now I'm depressed, but that's not always so. But being happy doesn't mean I'm happy about being single. I just treat it as one of the many things that I would like to change but know I can't, and in spite of which I have learned to have a fulfilling life.

I'm not worried about being crushless. I mean for a while I went through a time when I was really lonely and all I could think about was that there must be another half of me fluttering in the wind somewhere(lame poetic metaphor for I really wanted a boyfriend XD ) but not so much now. I actually prayed about it not long ago and got that weird feeling that god had something planned and I just needed to shut up and be patient XD

I'm happier single, most of the time; the instances where i'm not happy rarely relate to being unattached.

Fortunately I rarely have to worry about being the focus of a long-lasting crush, i'm pretty skilled at squashing the emotions of others until they realise i'd suck their very soul dry .
