  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I was wondering how many Christians have been killed by Crucifiction. Something keeps going through my mind. I keep imagining people (that aren't Jesus) being cruicified, mainly when I hear "Crucified with Christ". So i was wondering, how many Christians or what specific Christians have been Crucified, including modern ones. (Because I imagine modern ppl persecute them by killing them like Jesus was)

I know this is a strange request, but I just thought asking would be the only way to get the image out of my head.

The only one I can think of was Peter, who was crucified upside down.

BTW, you do realize it's spelled crucifixion and not crucifiction? I'm not trying to be the spelling police, and normally I wouldn't point out spelling errors, but some skeptics of Christianity like to mock it by spelling it cruciFICTION, implying that they think Christ's crucifixion was a myth.

Modern day crucifixions have taken place in Laos and Burma. I was speaking to a Karen Christian (a tribe in Burma) on the weekend, and he said that the military and the government have sometimes used crucifixion of Christians as a way to frighten or humiliate the Karen people in Burma.

I have also heard that there were crucifxions of Christians in Romania in the 70s and 80s.

Crucifixion as a means of execution was common in ancient Roman times, and in the first few centuries AD was used on thousands of Christians, I believe. I have no idea of the actual number, however.
