Only those soldiers who are self professed Christians get a cross. And I am fine with that. If I was buried in Arlington I wouldn't have one.

We can pay for needles for herion addicts, but not a cross?

Clean needles help keep heroin addicts from contracting and dieing from AIDS.

If I died as a cop, would you have a problem giving your money to pay for a big sign saying "God Doesn't Exist" on the side of the road?

I have seen little crosses with a wreath or flowers on the side of the road, but that huge cross is a bit overwhelming. I can see how it can upset people.
I see the only alternative the keepers of the cross have, is to buy the land if they are able, and with their own money!

I don't think your analogy works cos condoms can have health benefits.

To be honest I think it is not about anyone wanting their taxes to pay for anything. That is irrelevant. It should be what the family of the person or the person themselves wanted. These guys sacraficed their lives for our benefit we should at least respect their wishes on how they wanted to be remembered.

Why should my tax dollars go to pay for Christian crosses? Would you want your tax dollars to pay for shrines to Apollo? Government shouldn't be in the business of religion or religious symbiology.

Note the Billboard in the OP. Atheists paid for their sign. They didn't ask taxpayers to do it for them. Christians should do the same.

The crosses were not placed using tax dollars. They were placed by the Utah Highway Patrol Assosicaiation which is a nonprofit, private organization. The objection is that some of the crosses are on public land and they all have the Utah Highway Patrol insignia on them.

Your tax dollars pay for me and I'm studying at a Christian college, of which the government, utilizing your tax money, is paying 100% of my tuition. Also, your tax dollars also pay for the religious services of the military, does that violate the Constitution? We are led in prayer before every ceremony, does that violate the Constitution?
