Hello! Sorry, I missed you post earlier. I have made baby booties but it's been years. But I might be able to help you with your pattern. Where are you having trouble?

Thank you BarbaraJean, I will type up a copy of the instructions, I can get so far, and then its just all gobbledgook. I am going back into hospital next Friday, I will be in there for a while and I would love to be able to crochet some booties while I am in there. I am going away for a few days with my friend to try to calm my self down before the surgery. I will be back in 3 days time.

Lol. Sounds like me. I've been working on this blanet for sometime, and got pretty far along, but then I stood back and looked at it and it din't look very good so now I'm changing things up a bit. Changing the pattern and what not. Basically I'm starting over.

What projects are you all working on right now?

Surprisingly I'm not working on much for a change. Just a Carebear (Grumpy) for a friend's daughter. I spent yesterday and this morning weaving in the ends on 2 afghans, 2 filet pieces, 3 doilies and a table topper. Now I need to block them .

Upcoming projects include -- afghans for my 2 kids (one dragon, one wolf), a Harry Potter scarf in Slytherin colors, an Aran style sweater for my husband and some thread projects I want to make and stash for wedding gifts in the future (placemats, tablerunners, etc.)

Kind of a stupid question, but how do you work with thread without your hands getting stiff? I have trouble with my hands getting stiff when I use regular yarn.

those nifty crafter's gloves help a lot!

I would think gloves would restrict movment and moke your hands more stiff, but ok. If it works it works

The gloves are made with a high percentage of spandex, so they do not impede movement, and they don't cover your fingers past the middle joint. When you have a pair that fit right they hold the heat in your hands and have a slight massaging action. Once you get used to them they are great! (only takes a day or two to adjust to them).

And that's funny about you not working on much. Sounds like quite a bit to me!

I've been working hard today connecting the squares for my church afghan. I've done pretty well. I have 5 more to connect and then I'll do the border. Praying that it turns out well!

I dunno! This will be my first pair.

I've seen patterns for heels and without heels. I've heard that they are very comfortable.

Oh now you are talking warm My Mom used to crochet us kids socks and they were the warmest nicest socks ever. I have done some but the patterns I used were very complicated and just recently picked up a mag. with sock patterns in it that looked a little easier and thought I might give it a try again.
