  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

And you've never had the urge to finish it?
Course I have. But it's not exactly a sit down and finish in one sitting project. This is why I like sticking to purses, they're quick and I can fiddle with the patterns.

Is the lilac doily the free pattern of the day from Annie's Attic a month or so ago?

No, this one is called "Lotus Flower" and is from an issue of Decorative Crochet (#7) that I snagged on ebay a couple of months ago.

Oh, okay. I bought a some pattern books on ebay once, all from the same seller. I was like a kid at Christmas when they came. :D I had such a great time going through them.

I'm going to hit a couple thrift stores in a day or two and plan to look for some patten books. I snagged several 70's issues of a crochet leaflet once. It's amazing how stylish they items looked to me. If I'd realized then how much I could get on ebay for them I'd have bought up all the duplicates too.

I've been looking for someone with the same interest in the arts and crafts section to talk to. Are there any crocheters(if that's even a word) that have IM or would like to talk to someone with a similar interest in crocheting?
Hi, I crochet, along with many other crafts. If you want to, email me at sheriliegh@sympatico.ca anytime and I'd be glad to talk with you. My name is Sheri and I am 37! Hope to hear from you soon.

WOW--no posts for a month??? Where has everyone been??

Me? Well since the kids went back to school last month I thought I'd have more time for me, but no. Everytime I turn around I have to do something for somebody it seems.

But I have gotten a few things done. I finished the horse filet for my daughter  . And she hasn't seen even a stitch of it yet. It is for Christmas, just need to block and frame it.

I am on the 3rd panel of the Aran ghan. Will be sooooo happy to be finished with this one. It isn't that it is difficult, but it is HEAVY!! Double strand worsted, should weigh about 5lbs when I'm done with it. The worst part now is one row that is a three steps forward, three steps back, five steps forward type of thing. All that turning is getting to be a pain as the ghan gets bigger.

I have the yarn for the last of the ghans for Christmas as well as a CareBear a friend asked me to make for her daughter (and I'll get paid!). My next yarn purchase will be for the Aran-stlye sweater my husband has asked for. (Yes, he ASKED me to make him a sweater!)

I ordered a new book from Amazon. Lucky for me (and my credit card) it isn't due out until Dec. It is called "Crochet on the Edge" by Belinda Carter. She and I are members of another list together and she is a really nice person, so I couldn't pass up getting her book. Plus the project on the cover would look terrific on my daughter!

Hi Beautiful People!

I am new to CF and just found this thread. I love Crochet! I am working on a layette for my niece who will be born in Feb. I am a very basic crocheter, but I have made a few little things. I have yet to successfully make baby booties, so if anyone has a good pattern and dont mind me asking a thousand questions let me know. I have lots of books with lovely patterns, but I have difficulty taking the instructions on the page and turning it into something recognisable.

Anyway, just wanted to say Hi, and I will ask for help:help: when I finish the jacket I am working on at the moment. Its really cool and an easy pattern, I'm sure I could describe it if anyone is looking for a quick easy baby jacket. I think it would take 4 hours non stop crocheting to make, less if you are a good crocheter.

Have a really fantastic day everyone:clap:

Priya:kiss:

Hello ladies! (I don't think we've had any fellows join in.)

I haven't been posting here much but I have posted some in my Crochet Projects thread. You can see there what I've been working on.

I've completed a scarf and a purse. I'm presently working on a scrapghan which I will be donating to a home for patients with head injuries. I'm also working on a daisy afghan and a corporate project with the ladies of my church. Here is a thread on that project.

Hi Barb

Glad to see you are still here and keeping busy!

I finished the Aran afghan at long last -- it was the heat, not the stitches, that held me back. Now I am playing with some worsted weight yarn and a simple afghan in Tunisian. It may wind up wrapped for somebody for Christmas. I am also looking for a better shade of orange for another afghan. I have one that looks too Univ. of Tenn. and not quite right for a sunset.

Not a UT fan I take it? Lol.

All my projects have kinda been on hold. With everyone's school started up and everything else it's hard time to find time for all my hobbies. And I was planning on making something for my mom's birthday coming up...I'd best get on theball.

It's nice to hear from everybody again.

I finished up the scrapghan today and will be sending it off next week to a lady on my crochet forum who is collecting them for the hospital for patients with head injuries.
