  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Wow, no posts for over a month??? Are we all incredibly busy or what?

I have finished up another afghan or two, delivered a baby blanket, have 3 thread projects and another afghan started, am helping at VBS teaching crochet during craft time, picked 20 of the 27 quarts of cherries we got off our 2 little trees and have been playing lifeguard most afternoons while the kids play in the pool (sometimes I get in).

Saturday my husband is making me get up at 6:00 to help with the Father/child breakfast he "organized" again this year. I will "get to help" in the kitchen and with a craft activity -- picture frames for pet photos. Think I'll take something along to work on, just in case. Maybe a hairpin scarf - it travels nicely.

Well, that is what I've been up to. How about you???

I've been looking for someone with the same interest in the arts and crafts section to talk to. Are there any crocheters(if that's even a word) that have IM or would like to talk to someone with a similar interest in crocheting?

I have a reason to wait for the mail to come -- I have crochet goodies coming!!

First -- I won a suprise package from a crocheter in Europe in the Crochet Partner's recycle contest. Can't wait to see what I get!

Second -- I scored 4 more old issues of Decorative Crochet magazine on ebay from a seller in Canada. I got 3 from her a month or so ago. (Now I'll have 14 of 104 issues). I see lots of thread gifts over the next few (?) Christmases. LOL

I would love to talk to other crocheters. I have lots of doilies I have done. Several afghans too. I am working on a bedspread now and another afghan. When I am not crocheting, I am cross stitching or latch hooking, plastic canvas or making beaded angels. Can you tell I love to craft? My hubby cross stitches as well.

What type patterns do you like to use when you make doilies? Do you like the written out type or the picture type (don't know the specific terms). As well do you use new patterns or old patterns?

I like the picture kind. Most of my patterns are from old magic and decorative crochet. I have some old time crochet too.
