Celticflower said:Well, baby blanket #1 is finished and #2 is on the hook, #3 and #4 are in the planning stages, but don't need to be done until August. Once #2 is done I have a prayer shawl to make. It was requested yesterday at a church dinner. Luckily I have yarn enough for 2 of them stashed, so I won't have to wait until I can get out shopping. Shopping maybe a problem this coming weekend because we seem to have an overabundance of things planned. And I still have the lumberjack throw to finish, but that is a Christmas gift. I have 5 of 6 afghans planned out for friends for Christmas--just need to get the yarns. So I guess I will be busy for awhile.

Hey, you don't happen to have a pattern for a baby bib using baby yarn, do you? I found one but it was squarish. I'd like to have one that has rounded edges.

Today was the last of the crochet classes for the year. Which means it was PAY DAY!Now I have money for all those afghans I want to do for Christmas. The classes went well and I think if the girls keep practicing they will all do well in the future. I did tell them to find a basics book (learn to) to help them along the way.
Today was also the last game of the season for my son's basketball team. They lost in the first round of the tournament by 6 pointsWhich is better than last year when they were blown out of the gym by half-time.

I didn't know you gave crochet classes. Did you know that A.C. Moore is having a huge yarn sale? Do you have one nearby? My closest is over an hour away. I was planning on going tomorrow but I don't know.
Sorry about your son's team but it sounds like they made the other team work for the win!![]()
GodFlute2 said:Drat, my work on my poncho has come to a dead halt. M grandma gave me the yarn to make it for Christmas, which I didn't mind, because she actually made a poncho for my sister and said I'd probably have more fun making it. Anyway, she only gave me enough yarn for the small size poncho(which fit my 7 year old sister perfectly) So, I'm about 2 skiens short on yarn. Rats. and I was almost done.

Don't ya just hate it when that happens? Will you be able to get more of the same yarn?

Now I have another prayer shawl to do. My friend Jane was hoping to have surgery on her back to *hopefully* relieve some of the pain she has been in. But the doctor says her back is too bad for surgery to help. They are now looking into some alternatives for her. Surgery is still planned for her neck (this summer I think). You only have to look in her eyes to see how bad she is feeling. So I decided to do a shawl for her. Since she is one of the youth sponsors and has the kids over to her house a couple of times to play in her pool, I'm going to invade their class rooms and get the youth to say prayers and tie fringe knots for her. I'm sure I can get Sam, youth pastor, to help me.

The crochet classes are part of a mid-winter program the county runs for elementary kids. It is 4 Saturday mornings in Feb/Mar and the kids can pick up to 3 classes to take (my son took chess, mythology and survivor (camping skills) this year). About 4 years ago my friend Candy gave my name to the head of the program and I began teaching crochet to 3rd - 5th graders. After the first year I decided it was a bit tough to do it on my own, so I recruited my daughter to help. She will take a student that has missed a class or is having more trouble than the rest off to the side and work with them. That way she earns a little pocket money.
No AC Moore near here, but I am planning a trip to Michael's or Hobby Lobby next weekend to spend my cash.
Found this on another list this morning and thought one of you might like to try it>>>>> http://www.crochetmemories.com/archive/freepineapplecross.html
