Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I have done it with octagons and granny squares, but not done triangles. It beats the pants of going back and sewing them together. Still not fun with all the strings hanging, although some patterns lean towards working them is as you go too.

I think it actually gives it a more uniform look than stitching pieces together too, don't you?

That sounds way better than stitching pieces together!

Do you have a picture of your afghan? I'd love to see it.

It was one of those free patterns you get in the yarn section. Each piece is a diamond shape. Instead of making a bunch of them and sewing them together you crochet each individual diamond to the previous one. Have you ever heard of doing that before?

No, I don't but I'll try to take one and get it up tomorrow. It was a fun afghan to make and I actually kept it. I've made 4 of the flag afghans and have never kept one for myself.

For those who would like to turn their hooks to some charity work, here's a link to a really cute preemie hat.

http://www.geocities.com/barbie42day/rufflehat.html

There are lots of groups you can donate them to or you can contact your local hospital about giving them the hats. Many hospitals complain about the cost of preemie items and the availability of them, so they will most likely be grateful for any donation.

Delivered the wedding 'ghan on Sunday and the couple love it!! The groom was blown away by the fact that somebody took the time to make them something. The bride loved the color and the pattern and her Mom had to show it off to everyone who walked in!
