I started a baby blanket from the "Quick Stitch Crochet Afghan" book that I got from House of White Birches. I love the pattern so much (hdc and crossed hdc) that I bought the yarn to make another one in different colors.

Well it turns out that I had been crotcheting wrong!!! - somebody taught me wrong anyways now that I know what I'm doing I have started to make a blanket using treble crotchet stitch!! So it's quite pretty so far I shall make that scarf eventually......

Lol. I don't think there is a universal right or wrong way to do it. Everyone has their own way to do it.

Well on saying that the way I was doing it was going to make a VERY lopsided blanket cause it was REALLY wrong

People laugh at me when they see my crochet, especially my grandma, she says she's never seen anyone crochet the way I do, She says I look "cacky-handed", The teachers at the crocheting class that I "chat" in often point me out to new comers about how I do it differently . Nevermind, it works for me and I'm a quicker crocheter.
Tho I have seen worse, theres a lady Ive seen who looks like she's knitting with her hook... does look strange, mind you so are her creations... whatever works for her too!

Is knitting easier than crocheting?

I've heard that crocheting is easier, but I've not tried knitting.

Crocheting is easier to fix if you goof. If I make a mistake in knitting I usually make it worse when I try to fix it. Then I rip it all out and use the yarn to crochet something.

i can see how crotchet would be easier to fix than knitting - knitting tends to be a tad tricky to take out

My Mom used to knit alot, but gave it up for crochet. It is a lot easier!

I crochet. Planning on doing some on our vacation coming up. They are simple to do prayer shawls. Thought I would try it. I don't do as much as I used to, but this will change soon. I do miss it.

Cool. I prefer doing smaller things over shawls and blankets and stuff of that sort. Purses, bookbags, and such are my type of thing.

I love that everyone is able to find something that they love to crochet. I got "hooked" on thread last year and can't seem to do enough! I still do the Llinus blankets, but it takes me longer to fill a box now. Between the thread and raiding my box for last minute gifts---I think you get the picture.
