  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

You know, as I read some of the comments about how people should not accept gifts, I am reminded of something God said to me in a specific situation.

It was Christmas, and a man that I knew was having financial difficulty. At the time, I was the youth leader, and his son and daughter were in our youth group. Now I knew from conversations that I'd had with this man that money was tight for them, and he came up to me and handed me $100. Naturally, my response was, I can not accept this, you need it more than I do... But then I heard God say to me, if you don't accept this gift, you will be robbing this man of an opportunity that I have given him to be obedient to Me, and essentially robbing him of that blessing. I was taken aback. I thought, I should be giving this man money, he shouldn't be giving any to me. But God persisted, and I accepted the man's gift.

I have to be honest. I was conflicted. I initially felt guilty about accepting this man's gift, but I believed that God had told me to accept it. So I was very confused...

But then, just a week later, I talked with this guy, and God had done some seemingly miraculous things in this family's finances! The man got a raise, a bonus, and some of his creditors just up and out of the blue forgave a substantial portion of his debt!

I was amazed. And I thought, had I disobeyed God and refused this man's gift, sure, I might have looked good to those who witnessed the whole scenario, but I may well have robbed this man of his blessing.

I should stress that this is only one instance, and is not intended to set a standard for accepting large monetary gifts from people who don't have 2 nickels to rub together, but it is simply meant to show that the way we think things ought to go isn't necessarily the way God wants it to go.

I'm reminded of a similar situation. When a missionary came to church, a family who was in very dire straits financially invited him to their house for dinner after church.

The missionary accepted the invitation, but was ashamed when he found out he was helping them eat their "last meal". There was no more food in the house.

As he was leaving, he said the Lord prompted him to give the family $100. But he struggled with it. Not wanting to hurt their feelings, he gave the money to the pastor to give them anonymously. That was the missionary's gas and expense money to get home on.

After the service that night, the missionary watched the pastor hand the envelope to the family. The man began shouting praises to God and wasted no time running down to the front of the church.

He took the $100 and gave it to the missionary and told him, "I felt so bad that I had so little to give you. I prayed all day for something more I could bless you with. Somebody just gave me this money and I wanted you to have it."

You can't buy thos kind of blessings.

Look, I don't want to jump on you, or offend....

But I have been listening to Creflo Dollar for many years. He believes that Jesus was fully God, and fully man, just like the rest of evangelical Christianity.

I don't care how many clips you can find that may be strung together or misrepresented to say something different. I know better.

You cant just take for granted everything you see or hear.

Peace...

He denies Christ during service. Seriously look for yourself because the mission statement doesn't mean a thing. Maybe you're a fan but he says with his own lips. I didn't have to piece anything together. Just look for yourself.

You need to atleast look at the other side of things before anyone starts bashing people. Geez! I'm not making this up. I know you're a follower but atleast look!!!!!!!

You just don't get it do you? I am not a 'follower', but I have been listening to him for some years. I have heard him teach the divinity of Christ in sermons. I know better.

Several times a month someone comes into these forums and posts a link to youtube saying so-and-so says such-and-such, here's a you tube link. There was even one of Benny Hinn smoking herion. People can do all kinds of things with video. I can edit video here on my own home computer. I have Pinnacle and Ulead video software.

If you want to know what someone believes, go to their site and find out. Don't take the word of a video with no provenance as your source.

As far as just take a look? One, I don't have the time to follow up on everyones silly accusations. Number two, I ask you, is this pure, of a good report, does it hold any virtue, or any praise? This is what the apostle said we should think on, not some video with no provenance.

Good day.

Peace...

I am by no means (as most could probably tell) a fan of Creflo, but I seriously doubt he denies Jesus. I may not like his methods, but I know enough about him to know that he is a Christian.

Yes, I do know where you stand, you certainly don't hide it, but I can respect your beliefs, the more so because of posts like this. Reps to you...

How could anyone possibly know what Creflo Dollar’s relationship to the Lord is or judge his motives? While I deplore his emphasis on money, I can accept the fact that he is a Christian—a misquided/misguiding Christian, but a Christian all the same.

I like Creflo Dollar. I like the way he preaches. I watch him every morning. I alos like all those preachers that are in the same boat as him. Even other lesser known preachers. I like them all for the different ways they teach Gods word. See all that matters to me is what God sees. I always say, if I support a ministry, any ministry and I send in a donation all I care for is what God saw. If any preacher or any minstry uses it any other way than what I thought my donation was intended for then fine go ahead, God is watching he will still bless me because I was did it with all my heart. He will do justice. But to let you know, I don't think Creflo has done anything wrong by asking to go by the IRS

Heck, I even accept that you are "Christian", but that has much less to do with you than it does my Lord and Saviour, Jesus the Messiah. :)
