Creator "needed" as explanation

If hypothetical observers were to "see" the universe from outside of it, would it appear as though the universe were just a virtual particle, or something analogous to that. Perhaps they would debate if it ever existed at all.

LC - I've had similar speculative thoughts myself. One cannot imagine what a hypothetical outside observer would think of our vast universe...

Maybe I'm misunderstanding what you're trying to say here, but wouldn't an "outside" observer that was capable of interacting with our universe by definition be part of our universe, and thus not outside of it at all?

Choccy, unless the outside observer was detectable to us, she would still be "outside". You might ask how she would be able to detect and perceive our universe without interacting with it in a way that was detectable to us, but I don't think that it is too far a stretch to hypothesize an observer that could. As long as her methods of detection took advantage of physical properties that do not apply inside our universe, then the effects of her interaction with it would be imperceptible.
