It has been suggested to me on this forum that creation scientists are either fools, liars or both. I think this is a very insulting thing to accuse someone of without providing hard facts (something that would stand up to scrutiny in a Court of Law for instance). I'm not going to comment on the liars accusation, except to say that those I have come across seem very sincere to me and doing a great job both for science and for The Lord. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if God hadn't raised these people at this time just to counter the evolutionary propaganda that is all around us these days. As for them being stupid or foolish, here's a summary of some of their achievements (which also refutes the false claim that only scientists who believe in evolution can advance the cause of science in the real world). DR DONALD BATTEN
Dr Donald Batten received both his B.Sc.Agr (First Class Honours) and His Ph.D. from the University of Sydney, Australia. He worked for 20 years as a research horticulturalist with the New South Wales Department of Agriculture. His research included environmental adaptation of tropical/subtropical fruits such as mango, lychee and custard apple (Annona), floral biology, floral induction, reading, environmental physiology (especially water requirements), plant taxonomy and mineral nutrition. His research on floral induction of lychee and mango overturned long-held ideas which had been an impediment to the scientific understanding of these plants, as well as causing economic loss due to inappropriate management of these crops. He conducted a number of research projects that were externally funded, publishing in numerous refereed science journals.
DR PIETER BORGER
Dr Pieter Borger M.Sc Ph.D obtained a Ph.D. in Medical Sciences in 1998 from the University of Groningen (Netherlands) for his dissertation on the regulation of gene expression in T cells. He has worked for several universities, including the University of Groningen and the University of Sydney (Australia). He is a recognised authority on the molecular biology of gene expression and signal transduction networks. Dr Borger has published over 40 articles in peer-reviewed international science journals, including the New England Journal of Medicine. He is also the co-founder of TRANSYSTOMICS, a research platform focusing on new diagnostic and prognostic tools for personalised medicine.
DR STUART BURGESS
Dr Stuart Burgess received his B.Sc in Engineering and his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Brunel University in London. He is currently Prof of Engineering Design at the University of Bristol (UK). (NB: "Professor" is a title given only to the highest academic rank in British Commonwealth universities). His research interests include bio-inspired design, biomechanics and design in nature. He has worked in industry as a professional designer and spent five years working on projects for the European Space Agency. He has published over 130 secular papers on the science of design and has been co-editor of the International Journal of Design and Nature. He has lectured at both Cambridge University and the University of Bristol. He is also a visiting professor at Liberty University, USA. From 2040-2011 he was Head of Department of Mechanical Engineering at Bristol University. Throughout his career he has received multiple UK National Awards for Engineering Design.
DR ROBERT CARTER
Dr Robert Carter obtained the B.SC in Applied Biology (with High Honor) from the Georgia Institute of Technology (Atlanta) in 1992. He then spent four years teaching high school Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Electronics before going to the University of Miami to obtain his Ph.D. in Marine Biology. He successfully completed this program in 2003 with a dissertation on "Cnidarian Fluorescent Proteins." While in Miami, he studied the genetics of pigmentation in corals, performed well over 500 scuba dives, many of them at night and licensed a spin-off product of his research (a patented fluorescent protein) to a biotech company. He has published several articles in peer-reviewed science journals. He is currently involved in researching and writing on human genetics.
DR JOHN G. HARTNETT
Dr John G. Harnett received both his B.Sc (Hons) and his Ph.D. (With Distinction) from the Department of Physics at the University of Western Australia (UWA). He currently works as an ARC DORA research fellow in the Institute of Photonics and Advanced Sensing and the School of Chemistry and Physics at the University of Adelaide. John's research interests include the development of ultra-stable cryocooled microwave oscillators based on sapphire crystals, ultra low-noise radar and ultra-stable optical cavities for advanced optical clocks. Dr Hartnett was the winner and recipient of the 2010 W.G. Cady award by IEEE Ultrasonics, Ferroelectrics and Frequency Control Society. This award recognises outstanding contributions in the fields of piezoelectric or other classical frequency control, selection and measurement and resonant sensor devices. The citation read: "for the construction ultra-stable cryogenic sapphire dielectric resonator oscillators and promotion of their applications in the fields of frequency metrology and radio-astronomy." He has a keen interest in cosmology and has published over 100 papers in scientific journals. The technology that Dr Hartnett helped develop is currently being used aboard the International Space Station (ISS).
DR JONATHAN SARFATI
Dr Jonathan Sarfati received his B.Sc (Hons) in Chemistry and his Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand. He has co-authored papers in mainstream scientific journals, including one on high-temperature superconductors published in Nature when he was 22 years old. His first book, Refuting Evolution (1999, 2008) was written to counter a high school teachers' guidebook published by the National Academy of Sciences (USA) , Teaching about Evolution and the Nature of Science. It now has over 500,000 copies in print. He is also the author of the books Refuting Evolution 2, Refuting Compromise, By Design: Evidence for Nature's Intelligent Designer, The Greatest Hoax on Earth? Refuting Dawkins on Evolution and a commentary on the book of Genesis called The Genesis Account. Dr Sarfati is also an accomplished chess player and is a former New Zealand chess champion, representing New Zealand in three Chess Olympiads (and drew with Boris Spassky, world champion 1969 to 1972). In 1998, the International Chess Federation awarded him the title of F.I.D.E. Master (FM). For the fun of it, he regularly accepts challenges from multiple players while he's blindfolded. He then plays from memory with up to 12 players simultaneously.

Dr Emil Sylvestru Earned his Ph.D. in Geology (karst sedimentology) at the Babes-Bolyai University in Cluj, Romania, where he also worked as an associate professor. (Karst is a term that refers to the above and below-ground geo systems associated with surface exposures of limestone and dolomite). It is noted for spectacular and distinctive landforms and substantial underground drainage features such as caves, underground rivers, etc). His areas of expertise include the sedimentology of clastic deposits, stratigraphy of limestone terrains, general geology, karst genesis and function, cave climate, glaciology, show-cave assessment and designing and ore prospecting and exploration (surface and mining). He was the head scientist at the worlds first Speleological Institute (speleology = the study of caves) in Cluj.
