I thought evolution was responsible for the diversification of life after Noah's flood.

So evolution per se can't be a godless lie, can it?

If one uses the word only in that context...of change after being created by God, then it is obviously not godless. Howver that is not the usual use of the word by science books, documentaries, news stories, educators and etc etc.

The creation order is in chapter one. By chapter two, it is all after the fact and not an order.

I agree. However many people have (and still do) interpret that verse to mean that the earth never physically moves. That was one of the objections brought up against Galileo and the heliocentric theory of the solar system.

They were just as convinced that they were right as you are about all of the claims you're advancing.

It's what certain people who were so invested in their dogmatic, peculiar interpretation of scripture taught.

Why blame that on 'the church'?

Weren't priests and scientists basically one and the same back then?

Of course, not all priests were scientists, but most of them?
