  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

On a lighter note, we're here, so we have more in common than most folks on this "circle". Nothing on this forum will "upset" me in my real life, so I have little to learn in that area. I have "faith" that you're a good guy. It's a mystery; I don't know why.

It would probably be shocking to you to discover how little the mysteries you deem holy mean to me. But they mean little. The world is what it is. Our separate explanations suffice. I don't want to convince you. Believe me.
Well, I know Im a bit abrupt and dont study every single aspect of all this stuff...
luscaspa or arikay think they got me on one detail becuase I didnt comment on it....
the truth be known, I doubt anyone human could be versed in every aspect of every field of science that provides data for evolution thoery...

Im like anyone else......i read the stuff that catches my attention......I dont have enough time or even the desire to read it all....:)

Its just the stuff I have read has not convinced me that there is not a possibility that God created just as descibed in Genesis 1...

Sorry if Ive upset you tho :)

You're absolutely right; no human has all the answers. The world's amazing from a number of perspectives. I wouldn't be disappointed to find God behind it. I just haven't been convinced yet. And neither you nor I can determine at this point what might convince me.

It's OK, you haven't upset me. :)

Then maybe you shouldn't say that evolutionists are just interpreting the evidence differently if you didn't bother to even read the evidence or attempt to understand it, since how do you know that they are interpreting it differently to begin with?

Have YOU studied EVERY aspect of every field of science as it pertains to evol. ?
if not, youre just as guilty as I am ......

Huh?

Do you realize what you just said?

Do you even bother to read your own posts?

You don't need to be an expert in a field to understand some of the arguments within it. I don't know everything about chemistry, but I can tell you that the short lived isotope on the moon argument for a young universe is nonsense. See, its pretty simple:

1. Certain isotopes have these short lived isotopes as part of their decay chain.

2. These certain elements are present on the moon. (and that isn't "interpetation". We have collected moonrocks. The elements are present in them.)

3. These elements take much longer to decay.

4. Therefore, the age of the moon is not bound by the age of the isotopes.

Heck, FoC, I didn't even have to know the NAMES of the long or short lived isotopes to refute the argument.

As I said, I dont read every single piece of information out there.......
I dont have the time, nor the patience........and I submit anyone that CAN read ALL of it has either a good paying job doing it, or NO life at all:)

Really?
I know little about quantum mechanics, thus I wouldn't walk around telling quantum physicists that they are biased when interpeting their data and that there is another valid way to interpret it that says something completly different.
If I did, they should expect me to put my money where my mouth is and explain to them how to interpet that data in the other way. If I didn't, I think my foot might replace that money in my mouth.

So, unless you want your foot to replace your money, I would recomend that if you don't know anything about the evidence (such as our friendly isotopes), you shouldn't tell people that it can be interpreted completly different.
Its a pretty simple concept and it will keep your foot from visiting your mouth.

:)

It surprises me that FoC doesn't have Athelete's Tongue by now...

I asked you before and I will ask you AGAIN

DOES YOUR PREVIOUS POINT PROVE ABSOLUTELY THAT I CAME FOR FROM SOME PRIMORDIAL SOUP

MAN I love how you guys twist and distort to make yourselves feel so intelligent.
READ THIS .....I dont have the time or the patience or even the desire to read EVERY piece of evidence you all present.........

IF you can SHOW me ABSOLUTE PROOF then do so. :D

Wow, you just dont get it do you?
Did you bother to read my post?
Are you and John the same person?
What does primordial soup have to do with you not being able to back up a claim?

to answer you question, no it doesn't and was never ment to.
But what all of this has proven is that you shouldn't give out advice to people when you don't understand what you are talking about. Otherwise you might end up with your foot in your mouth mumbling about primordial soup.

You dont get it either....
I dont care in the least about one piece of data.......or 10 ......or 100....or 1000

All I care about is
DOES IT PROVE EVOLUTION AS A WHOLE AS ITS TAUGHT....

THAT is my ONLY concern......
If the answer is NO........then the issue is entirely moot to me and you know it...
If the answer were YES........well, we wouldnt be discussing all this would we :)

Do you guys see now what I meant when I said; "Creationists and Fundies aren't wrong, they just live in an alternate universe"?

Which one?

And this, by itself, says everything we'd ever need to know about FoC

You mean without all those annoying pieces of data? :)

THAT is my ONLY concern......

And regardless of the answer, you're going to continue believing what you've always believed, because God would punish you if you stopped.

I do agree with one thing; the issue is moot to you.
