  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Eccles. 3:11 declares,

"God has made everything appropriate in its time. He has also set eternity in their heart, yet so that man will not find out the work which God has done from the beginning even to the end."

That includes dinosaurs and anything else you find in the bone/fossil record.

Who knows, maybe evolutionists will one day even find God. But you must look for Him not in the bone/fossil record of the things of time, but in the revelation of God's word to man. A good starting place is John 5:39-40 where Jesus declares,

"You search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; it is these that testify about Me; and you are unwilling to come to Me so that you may have eternal life."
Or who knows, maybe even Young Earth Creationists will come to know the Jesus of the Gospels, who was more interested in seeing men have right relationships with God and with their fellow man than in getting into petty disputes about the right interpretation of the words of Scripture (as He Himself explicitly said) -- and who had some strong comments on judging the salvation of others.

God's peace be with you, brother in Christ! May you come to see us as disputing trivialities while still acknowledging the same God and endeavoring to keep His commandments. :)

What gave you the impression I am a "Young Earth Creationist?" I have read every book Hugh Ross has written, and agree wholeheartedly with most of his Old Earth Creationist views. Or did I misunderstand your comment?

Evolution does not equal atheism.

It's usually YEC folks who assume that "I'm an evolutionist" implies "I don't believe in God, or Jesus as my salvation." And I inferred that assumption in your post -- perhaps erroneously.

my physics teacher was a jesus freak, and me and my friends always asked him these kind of questiions... he had a great answer ... "God put the bones there" And we couldnt respond to that...

My mom said that to me once.... question then becomes: Why? What purpose, other than deception, would God have for placing the bones there?

God does not lie to us - either in His Word or in His creation.

If the YEC folk are correct, then God lied to us in some aspects of His creation story.

If the OEC folk are correct, although we can never fully understand it from the beginning to the end (Eccles 3:11), the better we come to understand God's creation story.
