Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Large scale phenotypic changes aren't assumed, they're inferred from the evidence.
Or in many cases "proven". The evidence indicates that macro evolution happens like me pressing 1:00 on my microwave indicates that it will run for a minute before stopping. All evidence is inferred to mean something on some level, but in evolution's case it indicates very strongly.

(just preempting an argument)

Do you have a conscience? All you are doing is lieing.

Macroevolution has not been proven, its never been observed for starters.

Those transitions have never been observed. They are hypothetical only.
Have you ever observed Australia?

Edit: Not only did I explain that there are other ways to prove something that observation, (good, reliable ways) but I also mentioned that we have each of these animal's fossils and have linked them through genetics.

So, for me, it's a bummer that evolution is the one everybody gets emotional about. I'd much rather it be the controversy over the elastic constant or gravity or Buridan's alternative to the Newtonian system.

It's only you guys that get emotional over it. We only get emotional when people try to force non-science into the science classroom.

So why was Piltdown in the school textbooks and classrooms for over 50 years?

Why is macro taught in the classrooms when all we observe and tested is minor variations or changes?

Do you get equally emotional should someone try to force science into someone's beliefs?

Hey, you guys are the ones trolling around the Physical & Life Sciences section. If you don't want to hear about science, then take a hike! :p

Who corrected the mistake?

Why is macro taught in the classrooms when all we observe and tested is minor variations or changes?

"we"? When was the last time you tested any variation? Which variation did you test? which test did you perform?

In case you are wondering, the last variation I tested was rs10485441, the test was linear regression in an eQTL study, and I did it yesterday.

You brought your beliefs into a physical and life sciences forum. Then you thought they were entitled to be treated with the same weight as physical and life sciences.

Whose fault is it if you've wandered into the wrong place?

In other words, check our Christianity at the door, right?

It would have been nice if some of us "science age plebeians" would have abstained from keeping silent when the physical & life sciences reared its ugly head in Germany, wouldn't it?
