Only we would not have leaches like the a.c.l.u., planned murderhood, an insane welfare system...ect.. No! I don't need a Harvard education to understand the sickness these things bring.

How would you get rid of these organizations? What about the expected backlash?

When it comes to assessing war/ defense of state, or putting criminals down/ making the people safe and secure I would do great; because I have courage and WILL to make the hard decisions. However, I would have to have lots of help with the economics ect..

I hope that helps.

SOLA GRATIA.

In order to use military force, you would have to have a military that will support you. I'm getting the idea that some of your ideas are so unpopular you may have trouble getting a military together to achieve some of these goals. How would you get a military to work behind you?

THE ABOVE IS FROM THE FIRST PRESIDENT OF PRINCETON UNIVERSITY!!!

uhmm you know that's not actually true, right? :sorry: When he was president it was called College of New Jersey, it wasn't called Princeton till almost 100 years after Edwards died, he was the third president, and was there from Feb. 16-March 22 1758 when he died so he was President for less then a month. :(

THE FREEDOM TO PRAISE GOD, what about that???

Why isn't that at the TOP of your list???????

Well you've already demonstrated that people wouldn't have that freedom, so why bring it up?
tulc(seems kind of silly to want what you would obviously deny) :sorry:

I have no problem with freedom of speech. Nor with freedom of assembly.

However, there would be Blasphemy laws that would temper freedom of speech.

Would I have the freedom to speak and assemble peacefully in protest of the policies of the CSA that I disagreed with?

Lel, howdy. In all actuality I understand that I would not be the best qualified to run a brand new government. I do not have a Harvard education with a major in economics. I have plenty of Vision and Will!!! Especially WILL! In all honesty though I understand that if perchance this was to actually happen, I would have to defer most of the financial matters to others more qualified. I have no problem being a leader and making decisions; however, creating a brand new economy and keeping it afloat... well...

All I can say is that it would be a modified Capitalist economy. Much like the U.S.. Only we would not have leaches like the a.c.l.u., planned murderhood, an insane welfare system...ect.. No! I don't need a Harvard education to understand the sickness these things bring.

How could you ban groups like the A.C.L.U? They are a private group of citizens who fight for American citizens whose rights have been denied by the American government. So you would ban people from fighting for their rights under the C.S.A. constitution?

How would you ban groups like Planned Parenthood? They are groups of individuals who sponsor, donate, and raise money and provide medical services. Would you ban medical services? Or just medical services to women? Or with those without the means of paying for medical services outright just have to go without medical treatment, some of them dying painfully? Would you only allow low-cost medical treatments for pregnant women, and only so that the fetus could be born? Would newborns be granted the same right to low-cost medical care as fetuses would have?

If you had no welfare system, how would you deal with those who live in poverty? What about those who have suffered a major loss - such as a natural disaster, or a lost job, or a whole industry going bust? How would you deal with those who can not hold jobs due to illness or disability? How would the developmentally disabled eek out a living? Would they have to rely soley on charity? Would the C.S.A. government create jobs for those who can not otherwise find jobs in the private market? Would the elderly end up being treated like those in the book Children of Men?

Do you realize that welfare systems were created because private charity just doesn't provide enough?

Gah. Small letters please. It doesn't help your argument.

I have a question: How does people blaspheming against God stop you from praising God?

I have another question: Why would you have a modified capitalist economy, when early Christians lived in a communitarian way? If you're gonna enforce Biblical law with regards to comparitively unimportant things like homosexuality, why don't you go the whole hog and force those with property to give it to those with none?

Shield, you didn't answer my birth control. If Planned Parenthood goes down where do I get my birth control? I sort of need it.

I seem to recall Shield saying that birth control would be illegal. I don't think he cares if women have a legitimate medical need. Instead he will view that as doctors and/or patients merely trying to get past the restrictions by claiming medical need; naturally so they can go out and be promiscuous.

If I had a Princeton University education, I would produce more sermons like "SINNERS IN THE HANDS OF AN ANGRY GOD". It is the greatest sermon ever preached outside of anything that JESUS preached. Hands down, bar none!!!

SOLI DEO GLORIA.

Hasn't stood up to the test of time as well as Jesus' words, though, has it?

OOOOOOOOOhhhh, come on now Nathan Poe. That's just not right.

It's not? Oh, I'm sorry, I thought you were putting together a nation based on the teachings of the Bible. And the Bible, I'm sorry to say, is as explicit as it is outdated on matters of feminine health and hygiene.

But hey, we've already seen a number of ways in which your "Biblical" government is going to ignore or disobey the word of God, so I suppose one more won't hurt you much more at this point.

There would be no hanky panky from the C.S.A. doctors. They would be good doctors with a heart for GOD. Period.

There would be great medical care in the C.S.A..

No doubt -- because the doctors would be imported from other nations.

How you're going to entice them to live in the C.S.A. is another matter.

SOLA GRATIA.

Primum est non nocere.

But...

However, there would be Blasphemy laws that would temper freedom of speech.

So you do have a problem with free speech... and given your riot-geared avatar, I'd say you have a problem with assembly as well.

So you have no problem with "Free" speech as long as you approve of it.

THE FREEDOM TO PRAISE GOD, what about that???

Why isn't that at the TOP of your list???????

Because the freedom to question somebody's "God" is far more important.

I actually hold a rather large amount of dislike for that guy.

What is terrifying is not his words themselves, but the fact that a human mind could create such concepts.

You can't afford to take Edwards' sermons too seriously -- meaning as seriously as Shield does.

Edwards delivered that famous little piece of fire and brimstone as propaganda during a time when hard-core Puritans such as himself we afraid that the majority of the flock were straying away from conservative Puritan ideas.

Remember, a lot of what people think they know of Puritanism doesn't go much beyond scarlet letters and witch-hangings. But most of the hard-line stuff was more a matter of necessity and religious fervor. Puritans in America lived very Spartan lives because quite frankly, in those days, who didn't?

As America grew, and life got easier, Puritans became more liberal -- and liberalism in any form is as frightening to the likes of Shield as the sight of two men holding hands.

But, lest we write off Edwards as a total kook, let's remember that he did have his moments of sanity and serenity -- unlike SoF, who has yet to demonstrate either.

Jonathan Edwards said:
Hence the reason why almost all men, and those that seem to be very miserable, love life: because they cannot bear to lose the sight of such a beautiful and lovely world-the ideas, that every moment whilst we live have a beauty that we take not distinct notice of, but bring a pleasure that, when we come to the trial, we had rather live in much pain and misery than lose.

He was the greatest preacher outside of the Lord and the Apostles.
