I read the OP of the original thread with I must say, a considerable measure of distaste. I would sooner slit my own throat than count myself a citizen of such a lightless oppressive nation as that. Where it to happen my sympathies and my guns would be with the union. A nation centered on worship has got to be among the closest things to hell that the mind of man can devise.

You have guns? If this ever happens, would you object to lending me one of them?

A nation centered on worship has got to be among the closest things to hell that the mind of man can devise.

Not necessarily. We're looking at a madman's notions here. Not worship. As I have repeatedly pointed out, Shield Of Faith's idea is antithetical to the Christian core ideals.
However, it seems that whenever someone who claims to be religious wants power - such as here - they are usually insane, or they are very clever manipulators with very little conscience (and no true belief if the religion they claim to follow). It may also be a twisted fanaticism we see. Not religion, but an incredibly strong and incredibly twisted view of a belief. Twisted so much that it would be impossible to recognize it's source it it wasn't for the flagrant use of words belonging to the extremely distant source. It's like if Stalin were to make bold speeches about how democratic his regime was. He can use all the democratic terminology he wants, it would not have made his regime any more democratic.
Shield of Faith is like Stalin in this example. He can use all the Christian terminology he wants, but his message is so twisted and so far from what Jesus said that it will never come close to truly being Christian.

It may be megalomania and psychopathy, but it's not religion. At least not the religion he claims it is.
At least I believe it is psychopathy, though I am not educated in the field of psychology so I don't know that's what it is.

My point is, put the blame where it belongs, and that isn't with Christianity in this case. This man's thoughts are diametrically opposed to those of Christ. I hope you see that.

Once again lots of lies here.

You know supposed faith guardian, you really should do your homework before you spout lies.

I am not insane by any definition. I know where I live. I know my name. I know what year it is 2008. I know that I live in a country called the United States of America. I know that President G.W. Bush is in office right now. Soon he will be replaced by another. I am a Christian and I hold a good job and I have lots of family and friends. If I were truly insane I would have been placed in a mental institution by now.

You are slandering me by saying that I am insane. Jesus Christ of Nazareth never did things like that. Christ the Lord would never go around and slander someone to try to make Himself look good. The Holy One of Israel never needed to slander someone in order to make Himself or His words look good and right.

I understand that you do not have SCRIPTURE to back up your position so you must try to tear down the person that you are arguing against. This is an old classic tactic. It shows that what you are saying is WEAK!!!

Praising GOD for His power and righteousness is not wrong or evil in any way. Glorifying GOD for His holiness and justice is never evil in any way.

GOD GAVE LAWS CONCERNING CAPITAL PUNISHMENT IN THE OLD COVENANT AND HE NEVER RESCINDED THOSE LAWS IN THE NEW COVENANT!!!!!!! :preach:

You are stuck trying to defend a absolutely indefensible position.

The WORD OF GOD has already spoken. You are now on the opposite side of the WORD OF GOD. Your pride and political views are getting in the way of your judgment.

You are attacking me for no reason what so ever. It is just pride and political views opposite of the WORD OF GOD at this point.

Please sir, if you are truly a CHRISTIAN then you need to stop trying to slander a brother in Christ. For I truly am a Christian. I am not trying to harm you. I am trying to speak about law and order.

Search the Scriptures and you will know that I am right.

To me? This is the logical end of the whole "Christian Nation" myth. :sigh: This isn't our World, we weren't put here to rule, just pass through to the next and serve the people around us. :)

You know supposed faith guardian, you really should do your homework before you spout lies.

I have not lied.

Uhm. Many insane people are quite intelligent you know. You don't have to be what we'd call retarded to be insane. You just have to have problems mentally. Like megalomania, cleptomania, pedophilia, self harming, and more. Many insane people still function in society. In fact, many insane people get very far in society. Our history (that of the human race) is full of examples.

You are slandering me by saying that I am insane. Jesus Christ of Nazareth never did things like that. Christ the Lord would never go around and slander someone to try to make Himself look good. The Holy One of Israel never needed to slander someone in order to make Himself or His words look good and right.

What does that say about you? I haven't slandered you. I have spoken the truth as I see it. From my stance, you seem insane. You have advocated genocide, you have advocated the exact same stance - only worse - that I saw in the devil worshippers I mentioned before.

I understand that you do not have SCRIPTURE to back up your position so you must try to tear down the person that you are arguing against. This is an old classic tactic. It shows that what you are saying is WEAK!!!

Well. So, you haven't read all the posts where I have quoted scripture then? Guess not. I read the bible, and while I can see that if you read selectively you can twist it like you have done, I believe I have demonstrated a few times (without you commenting on it I might add) how your view is flawed. And I am not the only one to have done so, but Suomi has, and if I recall so has ScottishJohn. To mention a few.

Praising GOD for His power and righteousness is not wrong or evil in any way. Glorifying GOD for His holiness and justice is never evil in any way.

No, it isn't. But that is not what you are doing. Enough blood has been shed. Do you not remember Christ told us to love one another as He loved us. That means we should be willing to die for them. We certainly shouldn't kill them like you suggest.

GOD GAVE LAWS CONCERNING CAPITAL PUNISHMENT IN THE OLD COVENANT AND HE NEVER RESCINDED THOSE LAWS IN THE NEW COVENANT!!!!!!! :preach:

No, he has not. That is correct. Everything which held the death penalty still does. So I am glad you mentioned this.
According to the Old Testament the following hold the death penalty:
  • Murder (Genesis 9:5-6)
  • Blasphemy (Leviticus 24:13-23)
  • Adultery (Deuteronomy 22:21-24)
  • Rape (Deuteronomy 22:25)
  • Incest (Leviticus 20:11)
  • Bestiality (Leviticus 20:15-16)
  • Showing contempt for priests or judges (Deuteronomy 17:12-13)
  • Kidnapping and enslavement (Deuteronomy 24:7)
  • Leading people away from God (Deuteronomy 13:6-11)
  • Being stubborn and rebellious (Deuteronomy 21:18)
  • Attacking one's parents (Exodus 21:15)
  • Cursing one's parents (Exodus 21:17)
  • Working on the Sabbath (Exodus 35:2)
  • Spiritism (Leviticus 20:27)
  • For careless handling of an animal (Exodus 21:29)
  • Accidentally killing a pregnant woman (Exodus 21:22-23)
  • Eating leavened bread during the Feast of Unleavened Bread (Exodus 12:15)
  • Consuming blood or eating rare meat (Leviticus 17:10)
  • Sexual activity with a woman while menstruating (Leviticus 20:18)
  • Speaking false prophesies (Deuteronomy 18:20-22)
  • Being a glutton and a drunkard (Deuteronomy 21:20-21)

In addition to that, let's see what the New Testament has to say:
Matthew 5:28 says: "But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart."
And James 2:10 says: "For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it."
And in Matthew 5:17 Jesus says "Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them.".

So, according to this, how many do not deserve the death penalty? None. We all do.

Thankfully, the bible does not end there. There are a few verses which brightens the day a little. Romans 3:24-27 continues and says: and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. God presented him as a sacrifice of atonement, through faith in his blood. He did this to demonstrate his justice, because in his forbearance he had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished— he did it to demonstrate his justice at the present time, so as to be just and the one who justifies those who have faith in Jesus.
Where, then, is boasting? It is excluded. On what principle? On that of observing the law? No, but on that of faith.

On the same note Colossians 2:13-15 says: When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your sinful nature, God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins, having canceled the written code, with its regulations, that was against us and that stood opposed to us; he took it away, nailing it to the cross. And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross.
He forgave us ALL our sins. Pretty amazing if you ask me. Especially given what we learned from the old testament and what the new testament says. We know from these verses, and of course the famous John 3:16 that if we believe in Christ - our sins are washed away, no matter what they were. And this is in my opinion unbelievably great! The punishment for our sins remains, the laws still apply - but Jesus took the punishment upon Himself.

So then what? Are we to persecute all non-Christians and execute them for their sins? We can't honestly go for murderers or rapists alone as James tells us committing any one sin means committing them all. And the Old Testament clearly states that there is a plethora of sins for which we must die. And if we truly are to use the bible to strengthen our arguments we should stick to it, not read it selectively.

You are stuck trying to defend a absolutely indefensible position.

I don't think so.

The WORD OF GOD has already spoken. You are now on the opposite side of the WORD OF GOD. Your pride and political views are getting in the way of your judgment.

Christ is the word of God. Christ told us to love my enemy. To do good to all. That's what I am trying to do. Though right now I do find it hard, I must admit.

You are attacking me for no reason what so ever. It is just pride and political views opposite of the WORD OF GOD at this point.

No reason? Well, I don't know. I wouldn't call genocide no reason.

Please sir, if you are truly a CHRISTIAN then you need to stop trying to slander a brother in Christ. For I truly am a Christian. I am not trying to harm you. I am trying to speak about law and order.

You would have me killed Shield. I am left leaning, remember?

Search the Scriptures and you will know that I am right.

I have, and that's why I renounce your words as Christ renounced it when Satan confronted Him with scripture warped the same way you warp it now.

F.Y.I. doc. You either belong to GOD or lucifer. You are a child of GOD, or you are a child of lucifer. All who are outside of Christ are children of the devil. Read the Gospel of John and Ephesians.

So whether you publicly pledge your allegiance to satan or not; you already belong to him.

You really should think about repenting and coming to Christ. It will be eternally better for you. Spending eternity in the lake of fire will hurt and be eternally miserable.

Just saying...

Typical us verses them thinking...

What happened to accepting and reaching out? Or did Christianity became an exclusive religion when I wasn't looking?

And what happened to love the sinner, hate the sin?

Hell, as described in the Torah, is merely separation from god. It is not a punishment, merely a choice for those who want nothing to do with god.

And, if there is an abrahamic god, if he is anything like the horrid entity you worship, I will gladly walk into the "lake of fire" if it exists. I will go with a smile on my face & a song in my heart, knowing who is truly the better person.

No, he has not. That is correct. Everything which held the death penalty still does. So I am glad you mentioned this.

Ok FG, here is where you are having a problem. You are confusing two different things.

A. We should love one another.

B. The government having the right to exercise Capital Punishment.

You are going round and round with me calling me all kinds of names when you really don't need to. And for the record your words are not hurting me, my shield of faith is way to strong for that to happen. I only am trying to get you to stop for Christs' sake. If you truly are a Christian (and I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt here brother) you should not be attacking another brother in the faith like this. We should be able to disagree agreeably.

FG you are ABSOLUTELY RIGHT when you say that we should love one another. You are 100% correct. You can not be More correct than what you already are. There is no Christian on this planet that can argue against that stance. I agree with you 100%. We are in full agreement there. There is no problem so far.

Now, when we start talking about Capital Punishment via the government; that is where you are having a problem.

You obviously do not like the government having the power to exercise Capital Punishment. That is where you and I disagree.

Now you are not insane because you don't like the death penalty. And likewise, I am not insane because I do believe in the death penalty.

We both believe that we should love one another. We are in agreement that Christ came to die for our sins. We are in total agreement that if we ask for forgiveness of our sins, that He is faithful and just to forgive us of our sins. We agree.

Now, this is where you are having a problem.

Let us use the state of Texas for our example. If you are a citizen of the United States of America, and you live in the state of Texas then you are a Texan. This state has the death penalty. They use this penalty in Texas.

Now, young Vlad is a bad kid. He has been in and out of juvenile hall and jail his whole life. Now at 20 years old he goes out one night and rapes and murders a young woman named Mary Jane Goodspeed. She did nothing to deserve this wicked violent death. Now all her hopes and dreams are gone. He father and mother are devastated. All her friends and family are in severe mourning.

The police catch Vlad and there were three witnesses who saw him grab Mary Jane and throw her into his car. They called the police but he escaped before they could get to the mall where he took her. He left blood evidence at the scene of the crime.

When they put him on trial he breaks down and confesses to the crimes. He gives all the details of how he brutally raped her then stabbed her to death.

They find him guilty of rape and murder. The judge sentences him to death.

He is found guilty of the crimes of rape and murder. He is given the sentence of death by lethal injection, by the authority of the state of Texas.

NOW HERE IS WHERE THE DISCONNECT IS HAPPENING.

You want him to walk.

I want the state of Texas to carry out the sentence of death.

You want to forgive him of his sins, and let him walk free.

I have no problem with forgiving him of his sins. However, I still want him to pay for his heinous crimes.

I can forgive him for what he did. We can give him three days to make his peace with God. No problem. He will have plenty of time to ask God for forgiveness of his sins. FINE!!!

He still should pay with his life for his sickening vile deeds of rape and murder.

That's it.

That is where you and I disagree.

I have no problem with you believing that the young man should walk. That is your opinion and you are entitled to it. I am not going to call you insane. I am not going to start a campaign to destroy your name calling you insane and mentally unstable because you believe that this young criminal should walk free and be able to do the same vile acts again, and again, and again...ad infinitum.

We can both have our form of justice in light of Scripture.

We can forgive this young criminal and beg the judge to set him free. Stating that Christ is very forgiving and we'd like to forgive him, and let him walk scott free.

We can also say he can have his time to ask GOD for forgiveness. He can ask us to forgive him. We can forgive him. Fine. However, we still are going to carry out the sentence of death that was given to him by the state of Texas.

You see FG, I can understand this. I think you can understand this too. Yet you act like you don't. You for some reason just try to lay slanderous attacks at me for some unknown reason.

I hope you can understand this post.

I hope you study Romans chapter 13.

I hope you can lay aside your anger for a moment and try to open up your mind.

In His service.

Shield Of Faith.

You know, I get the feeling that when we respond to Shield's threads, I feel like we're encouraging him somehow to continue to spread his HATEFUL posts.

(Yeah Shield I said HATE, deal with it!)

LAW 1. : EVERY time a real born again Christian speaks against any left wing policy/thought/idea they will be labeled with the word "HATE" instantly, or somewhere in the thread.

This Law will be hereby and forever known as Shield Of Faith's Law #1. Or Shields Law #1. Or SOF's Law #1.

Good to know the Law is still valid.
