I know this is almost Quantum Mechanics, but stay with me here.

1. You start a new nation.

2. You buy an island that is uninhabited or has a very small populace.

3. YOU MAKE SURE YOU TELL EVERYONE THAT IS ABOUT TO COME TO THIS ISLAND TO LIVE THAT YOU ARE GOING TO HAVE A VERY STRICT CAPITAL PUNISHMENT SYSTEM PUT INTO PLACE IN THIS NEW NATION. YOU LIST ALL THE CRIMES THAT WILL CARRY A DEATH SENTENCE. YES, ONE OF THEM IS HOMOSEXUALITY.

HENCE THE CRIMINALS WHO WOULD WANT TO COMMIT ONE OF THESE CRIMES WOULD NOT WANT TO GO TO THIS NEW NATION. GEE--WHO WOULD HAVE THOUGHT???

Your plan has a fundamental flaw (no pun intended) : telling people there is a strict capital punishment system is different -- far different -- from getting people to believe there is a strict capital punishment system in place.

The sad truth of it is, Shield, that talk is cheap. People are going to find your claims preposterous until they see the evidence for themselves. (Remember Thomas?)

Don't get me wrong, Shield -- I, for one, certainly believe you to be capable of fulfilling this justice system, even though your words of late don't necessarily support your earlier promises. But for most people, especially the ones who you'd want to attract to your C.S.A., announcing the rules is going to be met with a large wave of indifference -- until you actually put them into use.

I would suggest that while you've repeatedly claimed that the C.S.A. does not practice genocide, such a display might be the only thing that shows your own citizens (let alone the rest of the world) that you mean business.

Unnecessary. As I've been saying, unless SoF actually carries out his claims, his C.S.A. will quickly disintegrate from within.

And should he do it, I wonder how many of those "True Christians" will really rejoice at the lynchings after actually witnessing a few.

Now I know that one must almost have a Ph.D in nuclear physics to follow this extremely difficult concept; but I am hoping you can catch on to this, this time.

To recap:

Create a new nation.

Warn people that there will be a strong capital punishment system put into place that will not play with criminals. List the crimes that will get you killed.

Those who wish to commit these kind of crimes would not want to go to this new place.

Alrighty then...

Actually, I've forgotten more about geography and anthropology than you'll ever know. Not bragging, just a simple statement of fact, based on your posts.

An uninhabited or sparsely inhabited island, you say? Those are rather hard to come by--at least in a size large enough to build a functional society. And those that do exist are generally un/underinhabited for a reason (little arable land, minimal resources, scarcity of freshwater, and so on).

I suppose there's Greenland, but that's already occupied. There are some tiny islands around Antarctica, but none capable of supporting a self-sufficient human population. There's Antarctica itself; good luck growing anything there to eat.

So enlighten me, SoF. What island do you intend to...acquire...to make your C.S.A.?

"One of those Hawaiian Islands" would be a part of Hawaii, and as such, part of the United States -- and the US isn't in the habit of selling off its and pieces of itself.

Don't know much about Australia, but I'd imagine that they feel the same way.
