Crashing Firefox

actually, we arefacing some strange server behaviors, so maybe this is the cause...

Examples? There's two thread in the CR asking where the reports are - I can't view either one, they both crash Firefox. (Consequently, I still don't know where the reports are.)

The thread about the new Mod protocol, except for the first and last page, the others crash Firefox.

Clearing cache and restarting did nothing.

Don't know if it matters, but I have to use the Task Manager to shut off Firefox when it freezes up. The red x icon closes the window, but the process still runs and has to be manually shut down.

A couple of us over in the sf forum are having this trouble and this seems to be the issue

somebody recommended upgrading your java which I think is working.

OH... looks like some people have an applet in their signature, related to an old hack installed in the old style... i'll check that. upgrading your Java is the main solution, it is related to a call for a countdown...

I couldn't really tell you, don't know much about Java only everytime it switched on the site would freeze and so would the browers and I'd have to shut everything down.

This is happening to me also, I am not on Firefox though? I have had to reboot several times..

I'm having the same issue on Firefox. It does seem to be java related (when it does this I see another java icon show up in my system tray). I get that same Applet CFCountdown notinited error at times.

Updating Java seems to have fixed it.

OH, NOW i understand why you all have that bug... lol

not my fault though, it is related to the new engine used on the software... you have to update YOUR java like HypnoToad indicate in his post...

sorry but i can just note that it is not related to the site, but your browser/Windows... i will document this in no long.

I had a problem with Firefox freezing up when I went to view a few pages and so I turned my signatures off and I was fine after that, but I'll try this and turn my signatures back on to see if it works.

AFAIK the signature in question (Java) was disallowed.

Still not fixed for me. I'm convinced that it is the new ads because site supporters are having no issues whatsoever. I have the latest version of Java and some pages refuse to load and still crash on occasion.
