Have posted this in several areas.
I am going to try and keep this as brief as possible.
In our bible study group there are some women who have know each other for some time. One lady has recently hit a big bump in life and has had CPS step in and has placed her son with our bs teacher (upon the mothers request) Now with all the privacy laws the school cannot devulge any information on the childs schooling. My bs teacher has asked for this lady to sign a power of attorney so that she can conduct the childs business at the school. The mother will not sign so the school is now encouraging my bs teacher to file parental abandonment. We all wonder why CPS won't do this, but they have said they have closeed the case. My bs teacher has kept asking them for some kind of documentation....what if he was injured. She can't even get him medical asssistance.
The mom had kind of gone off the deep end, but has finally found a job and getting back on her feet, but doesn't want her son back yet. He is only 11 and can't legally stay at home alone. She works a second shift so he would be home alone all evening which I don't think is good no matter how old the child is.
Anyway, my question is....does 1Co.6 apply here? That's the chapter about settling differences out of court. Is my bs teacher wrong in filing against her or is this situation a lot more serious and needs the worlds court to settle this, but this would also be a criminal charge. Also don't you think it would affect the relationship between the boy and my bs teachers family if he were to find out about that? I sure would appreciate some response. Thanks and God bless ! Jujube
