My brother can sometimes gain admittance to stores without a mask on the grounds that his mouth and nostrils are completely concealed beneath his beard. A face covering is a face covering.
But as for hair, many years ago I got tired of the mandatory chit-chat at barber shops, so I taught myself to use clippers "before it was cool." A normal (non-Marine) looking haircut takes only five minutes, but the trick is getting the feel for "tapering off" as you move up from the bottom of the head (so pull away as you pass your head's curve to create the layered look). And don't try doing your bangs with a buzzer unless you are dating a heavy-metal girl with a mohawk, because you will find yourself missing one eyebrow. Not that I am speaking from experience, or anything...
