Our tenth anniversary is coming up next month. We are going to get a couples massage.

Here's my question: what do you wear for one of those things? Neither of us has ever had a profession massage before. Should I wear shorts and she wear a bikini? You're not completely naked under the sheet are you?

Hi there, I am so jealous!!!lol. I organised a couples massage for myself and my husband a few weeks ago to celebrate his retirement from the military. All I can say is awesome!!!! He had never had a massage at a spa before although I am an aromatherapist and he has had his share at home for special occasions. He didnt know what to expect either but came out of it feeling refreshed. As a therapist myself, I give my clients the option of keeping underwear on. It is a personal thing a the end of the day and it is something you should be able to relax while having done rather than worrying about whats on show. Women can wear their bras although it is a little awkward to work around, it is possible. When you turn over from back to front the therapist will hold the towel in such a way that it is not possible to be on show.

Relax. Once you get in there and get comfortable you will wonder why you havent done this sooner. My husband even asked the therapist if he could move in!!lol

Yeah, naked as a J-bird... if'n ya wanna be. Years ago I had me one em thins after a couple wrecks etc, an I asked the therapists what I was sposed to do, cause they started to leave an said sumthin like they'd be back in a min an to git comfortable. I didn't know what that meant so when I asked they told me to strip til I was comfortable an git in the sheet. I was never placed on show er anythin, they was real professional an always held the sheet this way er that an it was never a big deal.

These couple ones... I never heard bout em really, what are they like? Both in same room two massagers etc?

I think it might depend on your personality. I know most people like it because it's relaxing and works out knots and stuff. I think I just enjoying the physical touch. I always leave a massage feeling very sensual and beautiful.

The lady down at the spa. Weird, I know, but I feel like massage therapists really honor the beauty of body God gave us. I kind of absorb that feeling during the session and leave feeling really good about myself. People are afraid to touch each other even though it's so important to our souls. I have deep respect for the fact that massage therapists are able to fill this need in an appropriate way.

For the record, my husband does not give massages. I am very about this.

About 20 years ago I was in Budapest, Hungary. Budapest was founded by the Romans because of the hot springs along the Danube. When the Ottoman Turks conquered it about 500 years ago they built turkish baths where the Roman ones had been. There are still spas there, and when I was there with a group there was a men's baths and a woman's baths. So the girls went to theirs and a friend and I went to the mens. Well, it was pretty much a gay pick up joint, although because it was till a Communist country at the time it was somewhat discrete, BUT THE THINGS WE SAW!.

Anyway, they gave us these little aprons to wear (our girlfirends said they got the same things at the women's baths) that looked like a roofer's apron without the pockets. (I couldn't stop thinking about our girlfriends running around wearing NOTHING but a roofer's apron! ) It felt kinda silly to wear, but it was a cultural experience.

Massages were offered but only with soap. You kept the little apron on but your butt was completely uncovered when you were on your stomach. The massage was 50 cents. It was worth cost of my modesty.

The reason being it flushes all the toxins out of your body. As the massage is done, the movement is done towards the adrenal glands (now I think thats it....its been 20 years since my training!!lol) The toxins then get flushed out of your body naturally by drinking plenty of water. Dont drink caffeine or alcohol for 24 hours as that will mix with the detoxifying and give you a major major headache. You think you cant get a hangover without drinking alcohol?? Just try coffee!!lol

Im so jealous here. May have to drop the hints to my hubby now as it is his turn!lol

couple massages are done w/ you both in the same room, on seperate massage tables, and each have a different person working on you.

They tell you to take off as much as you are comfortable with and cover with a sheet. I wear underwear (or bathing suit bottoms) and I bring my shirt to the table with me. I lay on my shirt and bring it up around my sides so that I'm not exposed. It also makes me more comfortable because I can sit up and hold it to me if I need to move. Also the sheet is ALWAYS (at least where I've been) cover every part of your body that isn't being massaged at that time.

Couples massage sounds great. Never had one of those. My husband is not into massages by other people. I get massages on a regular basis. Always completely naked. I really like the skin contact and the environment. And, drink plenty of water.
