Do any of you guys play?

I know it's not a new game or anything, but I've only just been exposed to it, and now I'm hooked. It's hard to get good at it, especially since most people who play are really good already and end up killing you in 30 seconds, but if you stick with it, you will get better.

Anybody up for a blast one time?

i tried it a couple months ago after hearing about it nonstop for a couple years, and honestly coudlnt see what all the fuss was about

It's difficult to play in some regards now, a victim of it's own success (well it's still no financial victim ). What I mean is that soo many people have been playing it nonstop for years that there is always some overskilled guys around to keep you down while you're learning. It is also so old that quite a number of cheats have been developed for it, so they get wiped out the odd patch, there are too many hackers interested in this game and the cheats outstrip the counter-measures. Finally, much of the online play space is run privately or by clan and thus quite a few immature disagreeable sorts happen to be your server mods. CS and me don't mix anymore, too many bad experiences.

I found a Christian server, and I was pretty impressed, there was at least one mod there the whole time and would get onto any one using inappropriate language.

Ya I heard of it, but americas army is a free game by the us army, and it rocks. Awsome graphics and realistic gameplay. I like it better. Theres less blood to.

Gave up on Counterstrike along time ago. Too saturated with whiny teen kids who have nothing better to do. Cheats galore as well.

If I'm in the mood to play a FPS, I normally play SOF2 or BF1942 now.

I like Day of Defeat, much better in my opinion CS has always been a place for people who endless whine and swear at each other and argue over who stole who's kill, it really is quite dull now.

DoD eh? I didn't find it was much better than CS, being a mod-game you just got less ultra-lazy people (I gotta download THAT! ) playing and few more civilized older guys (WW2 Buffs, great guys! ) ,still, it got all clany fast, which isn't 'that' bad I guess, 'cept the addictive nature and the clan-pride guys who draw their worth in life from their clan status, made it annoying, to say the least.

Counterstrike is an awesome game, i had to quit a while back though cause i was so addicted to it...

I played for 13 hours straight a coupla times.... :S

I played it for a short while. Got fed up with the cheating, cussing, and immaturity. Day of Defeat is much better!!!

I can't play CS anymore. Besides the aforementioned cheating, cussing etc, the game just looks and plays waaaay to dated for my tastes.

Even though I'm an avid gamer, I actually found CS not that long ago. Yeah, I heard about it just like everyone else, and when I found that super pack of all Half-Life games at Fred Meyer, I snagged it.

It's entertaining. Problem is, with all the "buying", it gets really repetitive. The concept is a blast. I actually find myself having more fun playing Team Fortress Classic...another HL mod.

As far as pure FPS's that take a lot of time time. Medal Of Honor and all expansions are amazing for realism. Not realism like physics and balance (although it does a good job there, too), but realism like the bit of stress you get when you've picked a snipe point, and you're waiting for the other guys to come around. The sounds and moods of the levels are great.

BF1942 takes a lot of time out of my schedule as well. I spend more time on the DC mod, however.

I haven't tried it yet, as I don't play CS anymore really, but apparently it now has shields?! Alot of people I know say they just quit. I gotta wonder though, might be interesting, but then again, I haven't liked any direction they took CS in.

Sup! I'm new here ... first post.
I play CS whenever I can thanks to the clan I'm involved with. Otherwise, I would quit due to all the junk assosciated with the game. It's a Christian Clan. You can check us out at my listed homepage. If you still like CS, you will enjoy it more with a clean group.
I found your site while searching for a Christian SoF2 Clan. Anyone know of any? I'm new to SoF2 and would rather stay in clean servers.

hey i love playing counterstrike, I manage the christian counter-strike clan few left standing, our new site is www.fewleftstanding.net We just reformed a few months back, as the old clan died, due to inactivity. Over the summer i became addicted to cs, so I fasted from cs for one month, and now im not addicted! anyway, if you are looking for christians to play cs with, look us up! We are planning to add more games, depending on demand for them. We let you be in more clan then one. I find it uplifting and fun to play cs without profanity, and swearing. I dislike going to secular servers, and getting sworn at. anyway, god bless!

Yea unfortunately the inmature CS people have moved onto Raven Shield and ruining it, along with UBI doing more for the Xbox.
