  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Could this generation of creationists be the last?

I dunno. i do know that none of my japanese acquaintances are any more religious than a housecat.

The japanese who do some religious observance are very seldom christians.
let alone fundies.
Shinto maybe?

Given that scientists are pushing back the boundaries of ignorance further and further every year do you think that this generation of creationists could well be the last generation of creationists?

When you look at what has happened in the last 50 years it makes one wonder what the next 50 years will bring.

Please let's not argue for or against this advancment of knowledge let's just accept that it will come no matter what.

Wow consol, you don't even try changing your style do you? Insipid question as the thread "topic", check. Question begging in OP, check.

Over 200 replies and you are the only one with a problem, are you an ex creationists who is perhaps not as ex as he would like to be? or are you just hung up on something?

Some people just don't remember you. And some people still find AV interesting. YMMV.

Consol must have really got under your skin for you to be so bitter and some people still do find AV interesting,
I'm not one of them but that's just me. (or who ever you think or need me to be)

Your icons say Atheists but I have a feeling religion has rubbed off on you somewhere down the line.

No no no. Mao succeeded when he was alive. His value system totally collapsed after China opened to the world. In terms of banning religions, he did not even make a small bubble in Chinese history.

One per city? That's like none considering the population in China.

Yes. But if you counted the head, they are a lot. I would say about 2% (?). But that is only for Christian. Population of Buddhist and Muslim are way higher. May be > 30% in total?

Allowing for that you attach no numbers to subjective words like "succeeded", 'totally" and "small bubble', for once i agree with you.

The disinterest in religion has far more to do with cultural history and intelligence / sophistication than with mao.

From the link.
This entry is an ordered listing of religions by adherents starting with the largest group and sometimes includes the percent of total population. The core characteristics and beliefs of the world's major religions are described below.
Seems to imply that the listing is from largest to smallest. But it's also in alphabetical order. Could that really be?

eerie and suggestive of collusion.

especially the ambiguity in the correct spelling of Taoism Daoism, and the new alpahbet that goes D/T C M

A recent Inquiry addressed to no less an authority than the League of Nations eiicited the following response, herein quoted verbatim:

We are unaware of any reliable reports of the so-called Middle Kingdom, nor of Atlantis, also so much lately in the news.

Proof enough of collusion!

I don't find this very sophisticated but rather, very sad!! Right from the CIA. These people could use a little prayer. If sophistication means we can't be bothered by the little people than to H--- with sophistication!! I for one pray for these people and will continue because they NEED God. I will continue to pray for you too Hespera, for though you don't realize it, you too, NEED God.

Transnational Issues:
"current situation: China is a source, transit, and destination country for men, women, and children trafficked for the purposes of sexual exploitation and forced labor; the majority of trafficking in China occurs within the country's borders, but there is also considerable international trafficking of Chinese citizens to Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America, the Middle East, and North America; Chinese women are lured abroad through false promises of legitimate employment, only to be forced into commercial sexual exploitation, largely in Taiwan, Thailand, Malaysia, and Japan; women and children are trafficked to China from Mongolia, Burma, North Korea, Russia, and Vietnam for forced labor, marriage, and prostitution; some North Korean women and children seeking to leave their country voluntarily cross the border into China and are then sold into prostitution, marriage, or forced labor"

Science has further to go. I just went through the Mummy Exhibit and saw a tube of "Mummy Paste" with a plastic screw top cap, just like tooth paste. It included ground up mummy to preserve your skin.

You'd be amazed to find that Science gives a WIDE date range for most mummy's even after DNA, MRI, Hair samples, & Carbon dating. Like plus or minus 40%. Even admitting to inconclusive dating if they had a seafood diet. One body had an extensive nicotine signature. Maybe diet.....maybe from a smokey exhibit hall. Nobody knows.

You are mixing unrelated things. The CIA as source... so what other than an easy place to look up numbers. Sophistication-you wont agree but tht is how i see it. Certainly china had too strong a culture for Christianity to penetrate well they way it was able to overwhelm the defeated american natives.

As for the trafficking, i am aware of that, and i'd guess i have known more about it longer than you-just a guess. We have it here in the USA too of course, tho on a much smaller scale.

its one of the worst things that exists in the world, and it goes on all around us, and nobody seems to be interested.

"God" does not seem to be doing anything about it but maybe some day people will wake up.. i think it will just get wore, tho worldwide. i dont know if americans are too sophisticated or too what to be bothered to know about slavery and exploitation here in this country too. What do you think?

As for who needs god, we are all aware that you think there is such a thing, and i appreciate that you would want me to get divine assistance.

And btw, again, i did not call you stupid in this or any other thread, and it wasnt actually that great for you to say that I did. I think that is better settled than just put aside with us both feeling wrong was done.

in this part of the country, God works through one of the Catholic relief services, which sends us information on suspected human trafficking cases. we are ready to help victims (if they want to) in filing and obtaining a T visa, "To provide temporary immigration benefits to aliens who are victims of severe forms of trafficking in persons, and to their immediate family members, as appropriate." another Christian charity provides living space. not surprisingly, the actual location is not disclosed to men.

here, if you're curious:
http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/i-914.pdf

in the context of where we work, the problem is separating the victim from her abuser, and the window of opportunity is very, very, very short and law enforcement often isn't quick enough or ready to act on the information provided.

all in all, its a low success rate.

It just takes one trip to the country to see all the details CIA report does not say. I was there 6 weeks last year. And that country is amazing.
