Sometimes when I talk to someone I acquire knowledge about them or their loved ones without knowing how (claircognizance). I might also hear this information from an external source, such as a voice or distinctive thought (clairaudience).

For instance, I was talking to my university receptionist a while ago, and she was touching on how her daughter also goes to university. I heard a distinctive voice say, 'pharmacology'. The receptionist confirmed that her daughter does study pharmacology. More recently, I was having a 'deep' talk with my step-mother, although my mind was 'cloudy' at the time, I somehow knew that she has went to psychics to contact her dead father whom she longs to talk to again. There are many, many incidences like these. I also have dreams which prophesy. For instance, one morning I awoke from a nightmare where my father was in serious danger, or worse, dead. He returned home that day to say how someone had robbed his own car from him whilst he was still sat inside, in broad daylight. Prophesying in dreams is very common in both sides of my family; yet out of my relatives I am the only that has these psychic abilities that goes beyond dreaming. At times I can try to 'tune in' to understand a person better, for instance, however I can never open myself to hear voices on demand. I am a spiritual person, and I am very sensitive to everything around me.

From the age of 15/16 I suffered with very bad sleep paralysis where I would hear demonic voices, sometimes I would even converse with them. One time before sleeping, I spoke aloud directly to demons to say that I wanted to communicate with them. Within the hour of sleeping I entered sleep paralysis and had a very brief conversation with a demon with it initiating it. Yes, I know it was stupid of me. For the past few years, and possibly all of my life, I have been gang stalked by demons. Fortunately, I don't get sleep paralysis as much anymore (often would get it every night, or multiple times a night); although, I suffer with other things, namely crippling mental health.

How am I able to do these things? Is this gift from God, or is it demonic? Why is it so hard to find other Christians that has this power, is it because it is demonic in nature?

I believe it is possible that God could have given you these abilities, especially if you continue to have the abilities while you are in the grace of God and guarding your heart from Satan. But this could also be something from Satan. Sorry my advice isn’t very helpful lol
Based on my experiences with Satan (I prayed to him when I was younger- not something I’m proud of). If you give him a foothold on your life, he will attach to it and spread in every area he can like a parasite. I would try to observe if the voices and dreams are happening more when you are very close spiritually to God, or when you are being tempted by the devil.

Satan tempts us with supernatural gifts to get a foothold in our lives.

Seek only to humbly serve Jesus - not gifts, and He will transform your life, heal your deep hurts, release you from Satans grip and teach you how to hold the territory gained.

Then when supernatural stuff happens - you know He was there doing His work. It was never about us - it is all about Him - He is the gift.

From your description in that post it is pretty clear this is not from God.

I think the only test that matters is- does this ability gloryfy God, is it being used in his service.

If I used this ability for God, to help people, would that be acceptable then?

Paul said to covet earnestly the best gifts.....however, the best gift without charity profits nothing. Be not persuaded to give up all things spiritual to walk and live and worship only after/in the flesh. For God is spirit and them that worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth.

It would seem that you believe some of the things you are going and desire to do, is wrong......therefore, it is wrong. Try to only do and experience things that places no doubt in your heart.

In all thy ways acknowledge God, and He shall direct your path.

The folk referenced in Mathew 7 would have claimed both of these qualifications.

21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter. 22 Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?’ 23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; leave Me, you who practice lawlessness.’

You cant just assume God will use 'abilities' you experienced before becoming a Christian.

God's gifts working with you are in a different dimension altogether.

You need to focus on reading scripture, healthy loving fellowship, prayer with other believers, to build you up into who you were created to be with a healthy daily relationship with Him.

He will pinpoint issues in your life that need correction.

This will take years not months.

It is an exciting journey, you will end up with more than you could ask or think - if you put Him first.

It has been established to my satisfaction over the decades that I do have some - for lack of a better term - "psychic" abilities that not everyone has. I have never had an experience that was troubling or disturbing to me - quite the contrary, they have either been completely neutral and kind of fun or strengthened my convictions. Only a couple were explicitly Christian.

After decades of study in the field of the paranormal, including hundreds of books and membership in organizations such as the American Society for Psychical Research and the (British) Society of Psychical Research, I have one ironclad rule:

If you attempt to initiate psychic experiences by any means, you are likely to open doors you will wish you hadn't opened and will have great difficulty closing.

It sounds to me, Luca, as though you have opened those doors and opened them wide.

There are psychologists, psychiatrists and of course clergy who accept the reality of the paranormal and the reality of evil. If I were you, I'd be seeking professional help NOW. The doors you have opened aren't ones you are likely to be able to close yourself.

Thank you for taking the time to write this. It does seem that a lot of spiritual doors are open in my life, and as a result I am heavily oppressed by demons. I am aware of this, yet it's a recurring theme that I also turn away help or stray from the right path. For instance, I have left a lot of churches, especially one I went to at university, mostly because I just can not stand the people there (mostly students). I have been trying to get back with God for years, yet my relationship with Him can be described through the analogy of a pendulum that swings back and forth - no matter the position I am in, I always feel a very strong tug from the other side - a tug of war between God and the Devil no doubt. Sometimes, I truly wonder whether I will ever be free, because these demons are so relentless I know they want to kill me (sometimes they tell me directly). I just don't know how to accept help, because no matter what I do I always do the thing that hurts me the most. I hate sin, and I love God, but I just don't know how I am going to win this war. It is so easy to respond with scripture that 'with God nothing is impossible', yet it feels like I have reached the point of no return. Even when I do make progress, there is always something else that happens which directs me onto the wrong path again. I realise this is a huge rant. Sorry

I agree with this. Ask God what your gifting is OP and if your current ability is of the devil. If so ask him to take it away.

Not sure why but there alot of cessationist. When God does give people discernment and words or knowledge and wisdom. He uses many as mouth pieces.

Just ask Him and you will see.

Luca, I honestly believe everybody has these abilities to some extent, and that's because everything in the universe is connected, and God created the universe so if this is a side effect of the design I don't think God can fault you for it. Some people just appear to have the ability to follow those connections to reveal things that are not revealed to others.

I think the simplest form of such abilities are experienced by almost everyone, for example when you're talking about a person and right away that person phones you. It is said that that person's "ears were ringing" because you were talking about them, they subconsciously were reminded of you and that prompted them to call you. Karma is also a thing that occurs due to the very design of the universe, I believe. Some people call it the law of attraction; that being you attract into your life the same thing that you send out. ie. bad vibes beget bad vibes and good vibes beget good vibes. Anyway, I digress, but my point is that it is the design of the universe that enables, and even results in, all these types of experiences.

Having said that, God does warn against such things but my understanding is that he warns people against trusting in these things as opposed to trusting in God, and looking for answers in these things as opposed to looking for answers in God.

In other words, I don't believe it's necessarily an evil thing to know things you can't know, but it is an evil thing if you (or others) begin to rely on such abilities and think yourself great and in no need of God, or thinking other people with these abilities are great. That's where the problem comes in. For example; Saul was killed for looking for guidance from a medium, as opposed to looking for guidance from God. 1 Chronicles 10:14.
