what s up with this word after? was egw right after all?

5. Wrong understanding of the word "after"

In Patriarchs and Prophets, Ellen White quotes 2 Thessalonians 2:9 and interprets the KJV word "after" in a temporal sense, as relating to a point in time after the arrival of spiritualism:
Paul, in his second letter to the Thessalonians, points to the special working of Satan in spiritualism as an event to take place immediately before the second advent of Christ. Speaking of Christ's second coming, he declares that it is "after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders." 2 Thessalonians 2:9.10
The Greek word for "after" is kata, which does not convey time, but rather means "according to".11 Modern translations render it correctly:
The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders... (NKJV) The coming of the lawless one by the activity of Satan will be with all power and with pretended signs and wonders... (RSV)
The coming of the lawless one will be in accordance with the work of Satan displayed in all kinds of counterfeit miracles, signs and wonders... (NIV)

I think the KJV also uses the word after to mean according to

I don't think the KJV meant to imply the word after to mean a time period. The same can be seen in how the word after is used in this scripture below. It doesn't refer to a time period either.

Gen_1:12 And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good.

2:9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,

but then when you have a look at it again, doesnt egw speak about Jesus and the bible about the wicked one? I might be confused here, so please enlighten me...

Whats egw mean?

I read the KJV scripture from 2 Thessalonians 2:9 and i think it could represent the original Greek the way it written but it can be easily confused i agree, it would be better using a more modern version, maybe the NKJV

I was just looking at the KJV word followers in the scriptures below. The word should be imitators instead of followers in my opinion.

Eph 5:1 Be ye therefore followers (imitators) of God, as dear children;

1Co_4:16 Wherefore I beseech you, be ye followers of me.

1Co_11:1 Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ.
