Could America be Destroyed?

You tell me what we're going to do with all that money. What would we buy? John Deere Tractors? Barrels and barrels of pharmaceuticals? Lots and lots of military hardware for Bubba to play with in his back yard?

My company makes analytical instruments called spectrometers. We depend very heavily on international sales. So if nobody overseas is buying them, who would buy them domestically?

Hmmm.... sounds lke your company would have to develope a new product line for all the new consumers no longer buying "foreign" products. Now I hope you didn't take my post too seriously (note the winking smiley). But to think that the world could just stop doing business with the USA just doesn't float with me. We are now a consumer economy, somebody, namely the rest of the world are counting on us and our money to keep their economies solvent. So to think that the world would rise up against the US and block trade with us, well.......... I don't think so.

With the American $ and money hungry world markets I doubt anyone would slap major trade embargos on America. The city financial people in the EU would be squealing. Politicians would not have the guts. America has a lot of military clout already around the world that other countries rely heavily on. And unlike what most people think the EU is not anti-American though we don't always agree with American policies. And as you can tell the British government would always back America for loyalty reasons. Lastly, nobody except mostly communist governments and some Islamic countries wants to see America fall.

With as far as a nuclear bomb can reach, someone does not have to hit a country directly to destroy it. Then you have radiation. How many people saw that 60 minutes special were they did a 3 day thing on how a nuclear bomb would effect the U.S.? They described how far the explosion would reach, how far the radiation would reach etc... It was very interesting. I think they should show it again.

Gooch's Dad: why do you believe that the rest of the world would apply sanctions to the United States if Bush nuked North Korea? Sanctions as a political tool seem to be on their way out in general, and I really doubt they'd be used when severely detrimental to the sanctioning nations. But maybe I'm wrong.

To me it is easy to see it could happen.
I don't believe terriost will destroy america but they do make us weaker.
We could be destroyed by unexpected attacks or it could be an astroid like Seesaw said.
I don't believe no one is safe.

America could be destroyed without any military action.. the destruction of the family and morality and America is history... when this is destroyed, we wont have anything worth fighting for.
This is where we must all be proud that we are members of the Kingdom that cannot be destroyed - that is, the Kingdom of God! Complete submission to Jesus liberates us, not burdens us.
