CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Ha! I'm not surprised. I dont think I've ever seen a Squall in SeeD uniform before. Do you make everything yourself, or buy it?
What cons do you go to? I've been to AnimeExpo in CA, and some in TN. I haven't been to a con in years though.
You know, one thing that's surprising is that even though cosplay is pretty much an anime thing, a lot of the really great costumes in recent memory have been for World of WarCraft. For what they charge for BlizzCon tickets, they had better be! lol

Let see... over the years I been to Jacon, Anime Festival Orlando, Megacon, Metrocon, Janicon, EXP Con, & Anime South. All of them are in Florida. Jacon, Janicon and Anime South aren't around anymore.
Would love to do Dragoncon, Blizzcon and Anime Weekend Atlanta on of those years.. Not sure when I be able to do another con, is in between jobs atm. Which is sad seeing as the next EXPcon is this weekend. Hopeing I be able to go to the next Megacon next year.

Maybe I've been out of the loop to long, but I thought Dragoncon was always more of a D&D, 40k, table top/pen&paper type con. Are there really a lot of cosplayers there?
Dragoncon is the only con I would be willing to travel to these day, mostly because I have some family in the area.

From the pics and videos I seeen online there tons of cosplayers there. It a huge con for everything scifi/fantasy from movies, TV series, games. You name it it most likely there. Would love to go to it one year.

I am interested in cosplaying Yuri, from Red River (aka Anatolia_Story)
The black hair girl.
I like manga and anime, but never really have a character that I want cosplay (I mean how do I cosplay as Totoro? LOL).
I like Sailormoon, but it's too hard to get that hair style 'right'. Even I think the 'real human tv' version is kinda.... I think you need wigs that sticks to the skin of the forehead, like those in LOTR (those male fairies)
So Yuri (Ishtar) is the first one that I am interested in cosplay as, coz I also like the clothing too.

That is awesome! I have a group that is planning on cosplaying Pandora Hearts.. I am going to be Break Xerxes Also some of my group is planning on cosplaying Final Fantasy, Bleach, and Soul Eater. Oh also I have a friend in the group who is going to cosplay as Yuri from Red River too!(I read the whole manga and Its one of my favorites!)
Yeah I dont have many favorite female characters so I am mostly going to crossplay (cosplay my favorite guy characters haha). The female characters who I really want to cosplay is Kyoko Mogami from Skip Beat and Kurosaki Mafuyu from Oresama teacher. (those would be most likely my future projects) For non manga characters I would like to cosplay as Lucy from Narnia

My friend is using her real hair but I do recommend to go on ebay for getting wigs.
This one is really pricey but you should look for a wig similar to this(look up short curly black wig on ebay): Human Hair Blend Short Curly Wavy Black Wig Wigs SASE 1 - eBay (item 400162546122 end time Oct-16-10 19:02:17 PDT)

Was hoping to cosplay this Halloween (so more of a costume-cosplay thing), but it, alas, did not pan out. I wanted to go as Tamaki Mad Hatter, but it was really expensive and hard to find the materials. Oh well.
