I've never sold anything but I've been thinking about it lately so decided to research copyright law. I inquired at the copyright office about making a product from a bought pattern: Below is the response from the US copyright office.
[copyright office You are allowed to make the craft based on a pattern you purchased for your personal use only. You are not allowed to make multiple copies of that craft and sell them without the permission of the copyright holder of the pattern. Only the copyright holder is allowed to make derivative works or allow someone else to make derivative works of their original work. Please see the link below for information on derivative works.
