Hey everyone!
I'm still thinking of you all, but my keyboard broke and the new one has to air out a week or so before I can use it. Right now I'm typing with Pocket PC stylus which is ANNOYING after you've written thousands of words. I've typed faster asleep! Anyhow, when I get back I'll be more talkative than ever. The other keyboard I had made me sick sometimes so I rarely used it anyway.
For now I'm going to leave you with a funny story that happened last week. I sent this to a friend in email and thought I'd paste it here for everyone's enjoyment. I have to tell it!
My puppy, 7mth old BrandLee, was bleeding out his back end. I was worried. (I'm not into kids, but I treat my cat and puppy like babies.) So I called for the mobile vet to come and see him. Vet never arrived. Had to ring hundreds of surgeries, meanwhile my puppy who is an inside dog is out in the cold and wet, still bleeding. (With my allergies the vet has to do a consult outside while I remain inside, and BrandLee would need to shower before coming back inside after being around gardens and car fumes.) I kept ringing trying to find a vet willing to make room for me because there was no point showering puppy & chancing the flu until he'd seen a vet. (BrandLee was a very sick puppy when I got him & he's prone to colds.)
Phew, that's the background info done!
Finally I found a vet who saw puppy. He's standing there, asking me questions through the closed window, and feels BrandLee. Then he makes a strange face... "This is a female dog"
SHOCK! I was told BrandLee was a boy.
"so the bleeding is because..."I said.
"she's on heat." The vet said.
Because he's a very fluffy breed the folds of the labia etc looking like testicles! Then it hit me - no wonder mum's male german shepherd has been licking the puppy's back end!
I probably sound like a dolt now, but I didn't really check. It's not in my nature to feel up my dog. I just briefly saw when grooming her tummy. I'm keeping her name the same, just now its her, not him.
I still thank God every day I have her. She is beautiful. He gave her to me because he knew I wanted someone to care for beyond a daily feeding. She needed to be nursed to health and I did it. She is so cuddly. A complete lapdog even when her breed isn't meant to be. Just on watch now until she gets desexed - the vet's going to make changes to procedure to make it safer when she comes home to me.
I have pictures of her at www.bubblegirl.net/pics.html
She only a foot high, and will stay that small so she uses a cat tray inside and never goes outside. The vet said she's perfectly healthy, and I say spoilt.
