CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

He probably won't admit it, but I believe he is watching your every action; judging in his mind the validity of christian life and whether or not he will persue it or not. Living the life is a much more powerful testimony than just telling about one. Demonstration...people usually seem to lack faith...they rely on physical and visual cues to direct them. Perhaps you could minister to him by just letting your light shine through normal daily life.

First thing, you have obviously done and must continue to do is pray for him.
Second thing is to remember if the Holy Spirit is not working in that heart there is nothing you can do that will make a difference, beyond prayer.
Third thing is to be as firm in your walk as he is in his. He insists on his heavy metal music and pornography, and filthy language. Then you must likewise insist that he respect your convictions not to participate in that and not to be subjected to it in his presence.
If it means you must limit your contact with him, then so be it. He will respect you more for that and your testimony will be real. Then continue in your prayers and when the Holy Spirit works he will find his way back to you.

See if you can play Spy on him for a while. Ask why he enjoys what's there. Why does he love it? Tell him that there's something greater too but becareful though. There is a time to be silent and a time to speak but let the Holy Spirit tell you when.
You know what i believe? I believe you CAN get him to turn to Christ. You definetely can. You got the strength of God with you and who can compare to Him?!

I certainly hope I can. He does have some semi christian values. He wont say God D@mn simply because he fears God. Also he does have a good heart, though it may not seem like it. He got in a Car wreck last week(and thank God he survived without a scratch, the car is another story.) I feel that maybe God is going to use the "Job method", and start destroying everything one by one , and maybe then he will realize that he needs God. But i dont know. All I can do is pray and try to be a role model. I wish it would happen faster though. If only you guys knew him, you would realize how big of a miracle it really would be.

He saved me! Could there be a bigger miracle? Not likely. Besides a miracle is no big deal to God. That is what He does! Imagine! He created ALL that exists, simply by SPEAKING the Word!

Looks as if you have gotten plenty of good advice here already. About all I can add is remember that nothing is too hard for God to do. I will say a prayer for your friend. It sounds like he is lost, and simply needs to find his way back.

Adding my prayers for your friend and for you as well. Never underestimate God. I had a co-worker that this past summer turned to God that I never would have thought it would happen. I thought his heart had been hardened beyond hope. But, thank God, it hadn't!
