  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

A muslim converts to Christianity, father and mother are dishonored and disown the convert competely. God commands that we must honor our mother and father. Has this convert sinned?

Of course not. Christ himself demonstrated that we must follow Him, even if it takes us away from our father and mother. In Luke he tells those following Him that they must love him more than their father or mother. Our allegiance is to Christ first, although we should be respectful to our parents if they disagree, we cannot allow that to get in the way of following Him.

No. While we are to honor our parents, our first obligation is to obey God.

No! Nothing is more honorable than to surrender to the Lord despite what perception anyone may have otherwise. It is stated that we should honor our father and mother not make them think we have honored them.

King James Version Bible

Matthew Chapter 10

35. For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.

36. And a man's foes [shall be] they of his own household.

37. He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.

38. And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me.

40. He that receiveth you receiveth me, and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me.
