Friends the Lord has heard your prayers in light of my friend contacting me after we were betrayed and I thought he thought I did it. But now I am praying that God will help him to actually speak with me face to face and have the courage to call again. I really want to speak with him soon and I really hope that we can be reconciled. His 50th birthday is soon and I would love to give him a gift. The cult would not let me give him a gift for six years and I wish to celebrate his bithday with him. I just plain miss him and hope that God will soon finish this whole mess so that I can help my friend be free from the cult and know I am still on his side. I also wish I could tell him I have gotten his messages. He does not know. Thank you all for praying--Rose

CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Thank you for all of your prayers. Somehow God is working. And for raputured today: the fellow is in a foursquare church which is not normally a cult but any church can become one if the leaders are cultic. The church has many pastors and one of them was in a cult for many years. That pastor now controls the whole church even the head pastor and since I was in a standard cult for twelve years I see that this pastor is very very good at doing all the cult things, i.e. mind control, abuse of power, intimidation, and even threats. My friend has remained in this group when I left and if you know anythng about cults they don't like ex people from the cult to speak to those who are still in it. They are afraid the hold they have will be taken away. I am so burdened because I know the suffering that occurs inside these places of darkness.
