I have heard about the ice core in greenland and this in no way indicates a pole shift or CD (continental drift). What it does indicate is a large dust event 7,000-12,000 years ago, probably an asteroid impact or a volcanic eruption.

Duane, I would be interested to see your geological model to suggest an actual physical pole shift. Have you written up a paper on the subject? Do you have a web site where you can post stuff (in more detail than this forum allows)?

A physical pole shift is impossible. If it did happen, it would take an extremely large comet or asteroid impact to cause it. No such asteroid has ever hit earth. And if an object that size did hit earth, it weould not only turn it upside down but blow it to bits. That's a scientific fact.

Here is my take on the whole thing.

Continental Drift is just one more piece of the puzzle, out of thousands, that cooberates and points to an earth much older than a mere 10,000 years.

And predictablly, just like with all other evidence which points to an older earth, some Christians come along, and single-handedly overthrow the entire scientific community, by claiming that they have it all wrong.

Why can't YEC's accept the fact that the earth is more than 6,000 years old? There is PROOF of this. Continental drift, geology, fossils, among other things.

Because it conflicts with a literal interpretation of the Bible. Therefore, they feel they are either being made to deny the scientific evidence or the Bible. They choose the former because it's far less scary a concept.

Anyway, about CD, it is proof that the earth is older than 6000 years, although it cannot prove the age of the earth.
