Well, I just saw where large tax cuts are on the way while cutting trillions (albeit-not enough). Happy days are here agaiin!

Which, as others have pointed out, is not paid for (i.e. con-measurement cuts to government spending).
Are you in favor of adding 2 trillion dollars to the Federal deficit?

Take from Medicaid Funding to give tax cuts to the wealthy.

I'm sure, in the end, nothing will be touched. Everytime they want to cut the budget Democrats start to holler about Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security. This is an old and tiresome ploy. I'm sure, as point out in the X file that these programs can be cut without cutting benefits.

And, btw, the tax cut isn't to the wealthy. It is to all Americans. If you don't want yours, I sure the Treasury will be happy to take the money.

Oh, I'm under no illusion that the POTUS can force the price of eggs to be lowered - no matter who is in offce. OTH, the current POTUS can undermine our ability to contain the bird flu by cutting funds for research....
Apparently there is a lot of research going on right now on bird flu, not only in America but internationally. How many scientists do you want studying this?

That is $2 Trillion dollars over 10 years. Given the fact that Obama and Biden contributed $26 Trillion dollars to the deficit in a matter of 12 years for things like drag shows and DEI pollicies, I'd say that is a real bargain although I would have liked to have seen more. But then I would have heard about cutting Medicare, Medicaid, and kicking little old ladies off Social Security.

That's the 'DOGE News fan page'

What makes you say that? The House GOP just voted to touch $880,000,000,000 of Medicaid spanding.
It is a mapping to the White House press briefing room. You can see it on YouTube if that would help but liberals, conservatives, etc. are now on X.

As far as Medicaid, let's wait to see what comes out of the final bill before panic starts.

ROFL.

Your cut will be a pittance if anything.

Wow! 26 trillion over 12 years.

That really puts trump' 8T in 4 years into perspective.
Thank you.

$2 additional trillion dollars over 10 years. The deficits are already almost $2T annually.
I’m old enough to remember when the 2016 GOP Candidate promised to eliminate the debt.

The graphs about how the deficit will grow with these changes was pretty interesting. Before it was estimated that the deficit will decrease some in the next two years before starting to grow again. Well with these changes, it won't even do that but will continue to grow faster and reach the same levels it was during the COVID spending without there being an actual epidemic to deal with.

You certainly don't seem to be concerned that Obama and Biden spent $26 TRILLION in 12 years. So I'm not sure why you are shocked that the Republicans would propose a $2 Tillion increase over 10 years.

....is Bird Flu the only culprit?

Cal-Maine Foods, which controls about a fifth of the egg market and sells to Walmart and other large retailers, reported that its revenues jumped to $954 million in the quarter that ended in late November from $523 million from the prior year — an increase of 82 percent. The company said those numbers “were primarily driven by an increase in the net average selling price of shell eggs as well as an increase in total dozens sold.”

The company’s net income surged more than 500 percent, to $218 million, from year-earlier levels, thanks to higher prices, the lower cost of feed and acquisitions of other operators. And prices have shot up even more since the company released its quarterly financial statement.

The egg production industry has consolidated over the last three decades. Cal-Maine has acquired more than two dozen companies since 1989. It and four other large producers control roughly half of the egg market in the United States. The others are privately held and don’t make their financials public. The second largest of the group, Rose Acre Farms, has 17 facilities in seven states across the South and Midwest. Another large producer, Daybreak Foods, supplies eggs to McDonald’s, and Hillandale Farms sells in grocery stores under its own name and as a private label brand. (None of the companies responded to requests for interviews.)

Is $100 million enough?
These solutions, if you think about it, kinda work against each other and don't make sense.

"Roll back regulations" but "farmers will need to maintain a gold standard" for biosecurity measures"? And there will be new vaccines. So ANOTHER regulation?

And wouldn't that also work against rfks plan to regulated the food industry?

I mean it's all made up buzzwords anyways. "Implement regulations because regulation keep people safe but tell the fools were reducing regulations to save money"

Alsi, how come there these two ideas "Trump is going to cut all spending" and "don't worry nothing will get cut" are being held at the same time?

Ooo look! Another monopoly controlling prices (likely by using an algorithm) in a geographic area.

On the plus side folks....get some backyard chickens! They're super cute and easy to take care of. And now, apparently you can use em to print money.
We don't have issues with egg prices here, but my wife and I have joked that we'll get a few silkie chickens at some point for pets just because they're fluffy.
