  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

The only people who care about the Constitution and all it's explicit references to the Creator are those who are like-minded with the framers of the USA and it's Constitution - BELIEVING/PRACTICING CHRISTIANS.

I think some of us are still waiting for a list of those "explicit references to the Creator" found in the Constitution.

If the US was founded on anything, it was founded on rebellion. Rebellion against established authority. Opposing--or at the very least questioning--the authority of religion and churches was part of that.

Whaling, cotton, slavery and Manifest Destiny. It's revisionist history to think that your average citizen thought about lofty ideals more frequently than on secular hoilidays. They were too busy trying stuggling to survive economically and eke out an existance.

I was thinking of the Declaration of Independence. The Constitution is the framework of American life and laws.

It's funny, the American people could write that letter, the Declaration of Independence, to Obama.

This eliminates the first 15 presidents of The Republic.

ALL of these men had fathers born before the Unites States declared its independence.

And if we really want to get sticky the union was formed in 1789. That eliminates Lincoln and Johnson as well. A total of the first 17 presidents not fit to be president.

Good job!

1) He must have an American father.

Obama is quartering troops in our houses? He's hiring foreign mercenaries? e's confiscating our ships at sea?

Don't be such a drama llama. There's no comparison.

Actually no. It's merely the basic law of the land.

It's funny, the American people could write that letter, the Declaration of Independence, to Obama.

Really? I'm no big fan of the President's policies, but I don't think you will find many of the listed complaints being an issue today.

And no excuse.

Lt. Colonel Terry Lakin served with time off for good behavior!
Still this does not change the fact that he committed treason! Terry Lakin acted immaturely and stupidly and should never have been allowed to wear the uniform of an US Officer. The President is (was) his commander in chief. In other countries he would have faced life or the firing squad.

The justification for the Founders rebellion rested on God's Natural Law.

"Done in Convention by the Unanimous Consent of the States present the Seventeenth Day of September in the Year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and Eighty seven and of the Independence of the United States of America the Twelfth."

The "Year of our Lord" was the year of Jesus Christ.

It is not possible for humans to define what is natural. We would be arrogantly overstepping our bounds if we ever chose to do so. I think this is why the writers of the 14th Amendment chose not to use the word "natural". It is also why the Framers of the Constitution chose to defer to God's natural law.

A child's natural father is not necessarily the same as the bio-dad. The man who loves and raises a child is the child's natural father.

Human Beings have a natural, deep seated desire to please our fathers. We go through life trying to live up to our Daddy's expectations. Why this is so, God only knows, he made us this way. This is true for women, too. That's why we have the old expression "Daddy's little girl".

I think a brother would be someone raised to be an American.
