Conspiracy Theories Forum Statement of Purpose

Welcome to the Conspiracy Theories forum. This is a forum for discussing topics that are considered to be conspiracy theories. This means that your OP should present a conspiracy theory that you believe in and can post supporting evidence for (i.e. YouTube videos, articles, deductive reasoning). Other members may then ask questions and/or challenge the content of your posts with opposing data. Choosing to participate in this forum means that you are aware that your personal beliefs and theories may be challenged, however, ridiculing the theories and beliefs of another member is not allowed.

Members are never to be personally attacked. Please understand that in a debate the discussion may become heated at times. Keep your focus on challenging the idea, not attacking the poster. Flaming is defined as an attack on another member's character, as opposed to their arguments or beliefs. Blatant flames toward another member such as, "You stupid moron," are unacceptable and will lead to staff actions. If you stick to discussing another member's arguments or theories, rather than their person, you should be fine. If you are focused on contributing to the community in a positive way then you won't become a disruption.

Handling Disagreements

Members who participate in the Conspiracy Theories forum are expected to treat one another with courtesy and respect at all times, ESPECIALLY when you disagree with each other. It is not a flame for a member to disagree with another member's argument or opinion on a specific topic.
  • When you disagree, address the context of the post and not the poster.
  • When you disagree with someone's position, you should post evidence and supporting statements for your position. This policy, sometimes referred to as "X means Y because of Z", must be followed especially when posting claims that are widely considered to be controversial.
  • When you disagree and you find yourself becoming frustrated and angry, step away from the computer and give yourself time to cool down.
  • Always proofread your post before hitting the "Reply" button to make sure you have responded with courtesy and respect.
All posts are expected to be in compliance with the site rules.

If you have issues with another member and can't work it out, or are disgruntled about a staff decision, please contact the staff member who issued the staff action or go to Member Services Center and start a thread. Discussion of members or staff actions in the public forums is considered disruptive and may result in additional staff actions.
