  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Recently several people in my church have gotten interested in Walter Veith.:sick: This afternoon our church watched a video of his on all the carismatics and televangelists.

I have to say that I am very, very, skeptical. And not just skeptical; I'm confused. What is the point to all these conspiracy theories? I mean it is ridiculous! Jesuits, FreeMasons, wackos, Benny Hin, etc. etc. etc.

Whatever. I'm just sick of it. Is it even possible to analyze world events without bringing up a conspiracy theory?:mad:

If you don't like it, you don't have to watch it.

I watched a little bit on youtube. Has he written anything, or is it just video stuff? I found his evidence unconvincing, I just wonder if that was because of the presentation style. In a book he would have to provide better references and research to back up his claims.

Plus his use of Hegelian philosophy of history was a bit funny.

Yeah he has written several books, but most of them are either on creation or nutrition. His creation lectures are a little bit better, though.

Don't get me wrong, I love conspiracy theories as much as the next guy, however, sometimes I would like to discuss political and current events without hearing anything about secret societies.

Oh and one more thing. Is it necessary to use conspiracy theories to discredit the evangelic carismatic televangelists? They so obviously discredit themselves by their lifestyles and unethical behaviour that I don't see the necessity in resorting very dubious theories.

I must be sheltered because I have never heard anything about him except what little I have read in this forum.
Go to Google video and search for Walter Veith or Total Onslaught and you can watch the videos for free.

Personnal I am convinced. How else is the Vatican going to rule the world(she is ruling the world right now behind closed doors, all you got to do is open your eyes and do some research)?

I personally don't see the need to connect everything by secret societies to one giant conspiracy of the Catholic Church. Surely the coruptability of power is enough to prolong the Great Controversy.

You think she is going to rule the world through open and fair means?

How did she rule the world during the dark ages?

Who said anything about fair and open? The way that power (without justice) works is never fair and open. Consider Augustine's story of the pirate and emperor in The City of God. The emperor is the same as the pirate, just with a larger fleet of ships. If there is no justice in power, then there is nothing fair and open at all.

This does not mean that there is a big table in an underground lair with supervillians sitting around plotting the end of the world.

For example, often capitalists politicians end up following the same agenda and trample the poor under foot for the sake of the free market (which is really free to maintain corporate greed). This does not mean that they all conspire together. It means that there is an infecting political philosophy that many people follow. Once the virus infects, it will spread. It doesn't need a secret society to keep it alive. It plays to the base human nature of putting oneself before others.

Likewise, power infects all areas of society. Politics, religion, industry, the local soccer club ...

In the Great Controversy, the Devil uses this infecting power, this greed. He doesn't need the illuminate or the freemasons. They exist as a human construct to gain power.

Professor Walter J. Veith does a very good job in researching and presenting the issues he deals with. The problem is that you cannot prove the purpose or intent of some of the less know historical issues or groups especially if they are groups who kept it secret or out of the limelight.

The Jesuits historically were known as the eyes and ears of the Catholic Church as well as enforcers of the churches rules and edicts. That is well documented, take a look at the History of England when they broke away from the Catholic church, but to prove many of the allegations ascribed to them is a difficult task....

A secondary issue in some of these generally less familiar historical areas is that Walter J. Veith attacks a issue with specific facts trying to prove a theory like the proferssor he is, rather than from what a pastor or layman might do in just quoting Ellen White's writings or general history which most Adventist know and accept. If little known historical facts are not accepted as proven it causes credibility issues which is the case in some of the issues Walter Veigh tackles.

Do you think he is right when he says the Jesuits are conspiring to bring in a new world order with the Pope as the head of the world?

Are you able to admit that the Jesuits have a great history of working for social justice issues, that they have done much good for poor communitees around the world?

Maybes but that was not the question I asked.

Even so if they did good things that does not excuse the bad they done.

I've been accused of being a conspiracy nut in the past. I don't think I am as I have found where some things done in the scientific realm seems to fit the catagory of a conspiracy very well. When it comes to any kind of big power we must remember the old addage that power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely.

I haven't saw or read any of the stuff you just mentioned except some of the stuff a while back on freemasonry. Being an ex-freemason I can tell you that based on my experience what is being claimed is bogus.

God Bless

History clearly shows us that when the Catholic Church's rule was threathened they struck back with whatever means they had, and the Jesuits were the 'strike force' or enforcers in many cases. When the Spaniards came to the New World, they forced the Catholic faith at the point of a sword or gun on many of the native people.

It occurs even today in many Latin countries just a bit more civilized, the Catholic church fights with whatever means at its disposal to keep other religions from coming in and getting converts. It is also a issue with Islam, they have religious police in some Islamic countries or forbid Christians from coming in or trying to convert anyone..

The Great Controversy talks about the Jesuits.

"Throughout Christendom, Protestantism was menaced by formidable foes. The first triumphs of the Reformation past, Rome summoned new forces, hoping to accomplish its destruction. At this time the order of the Jesuits was created, the most cruel, unscrupulous, and powerful of all the champions of popery. Cut off from earthly ties and human interests, dead to the claims of natural affection, reason and conscience wholly silenced, they knew no rule, no tie, but that of their order, and no duty but to extend its power. (See Appendix.) The gospel of Christ had enabled its adherents to meet danger and endure suffering, undismayed by cold, hunger, toil, and poverty, to uphold the banner of truth in face of the rack, the dungeon, and the stake. To combat these forces, Jesuitism inspired its followers with a fanaticism that enabled them to endure like dangers, and to oppose to the power of truth all the weapons of deception. There was no crime too great for them to commit, no deception too base for them to practice, no disguise too difficult for them to assume. Vowed to perpetual poverty and humility, it was their studied aim to secure wealth and power, to be devoted to the overthrow of Protestantism, and the re-establishment of the papal supremacy. {GC 234.2}

When appearing as members of their order, they wore a garb of sanctity, visiting prisons and hospitals, ministering to the sick and the poor, professing to have renounced the world, and bearing the sacred name of Jesus, who went about doing good. But under this blameless exterior the most criminal and deadly purposes were often concealed. It was a fundamental principle of the order that the end justifies the means. By this code, lying, theft, perjury, assassination, were not only pardonable but commendable, when they served the interests of the church. Under various disguises the Jesuits worked their way into offices of state, climbing up to be the counselors of kings, and shaping the policy of nations. They became servants to act as spies upon their masters. They established colleges for the sons of princes and nobles, and schools for the common people; and the children of Protestant parents were drawn into an observance of popish rites. All the outward pomp and display of the Romish worship was brought to bear to confuse the mind and dazzle and captivate the imagination, and thus the liberty for which the fathers had toiled and bled was betrayed by the sons. The Jesuits rapidly spread themselves over Europe, and wherever they went, there followed a revival of popery." {GC 235.1}

When the Order of Jesuits was banished in Europe in the 1700s. It went under ground. The ex-Jesuit Adam Weishaupt founded the Order of Illuminati (the age of Enlightenment was introduced in the same time period) in 1776. The Illuminati's infiltrated the older secrete societies such as the Freemasons, the Rosicrucians...

The highest ranked masons are initiated into the various organizations of the Illuminati.
