• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

I feel like I've been plagued with bad dreams .. they happen so often one or twice a week.

I woke up from one now..

I'm really dealing with alot. Sleeplessness due to nightmares is the last thing i need.

Anything I can do?

Any tips?

I am just trying to see if anyone might have any advice or whatever for the person who posted it. I lack wisdom here but others obviously have wisdom. At least may there be more prayer clicks.

Try putting your finger on the pulse of your wrist and focus on the flow of blood, sometimes that helps me.

Try also applying texts that relate to anxiety like Philippians 4:4-9.

There can be several causes for intense and negative dreams.

1.Stress. One can be facing a difficult situation that causes stress and anxiety,
2. Diet and nutrition. There can be a physiological reaction to chemicals from food (sometimes fermented food) that results in dream intensity.
3. Health. There are some tumors that can secret chemicals into the blood system that can produce vivid dreaming.

You might want to investigate and see if any of these conditions exist.
