All I remember about the Nazarene brothers down the block when I was a kid was their church didn't want them to GO TO MOVIES, which was legalistic, but that was a long time ago.

I got re-baptized because I wanted to; I was baptized as an infant, did it again at 19.

Seems to me there are instances in the NT of "whole households" being baptized which make a valid case for infant baptism. Lydia, the Phillipian jailer - they had personal experiences with the gospel - and their whole household was baptized.

I Like that Methodists allow any Christian to communion. It's not just Catholics that have a "closed table" - MIssouri Synod Lutherans do as well, and others.

It sounds like you've recently left a Nazarene church.
Could you explain about baptism please?
When I was living in the states babies would be dedicated to God...not baptized.

I appreciate your reply.
The Manual allows for both infant baptism and infant dedication. I was baptized when I was one year old.

Hi Marie,
What would be the belief behind this?
For forgiveness of original sin?
To make the baby be a member of the congregation?
I can't remember...
And I hate learning things on the net.
