  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Please pray for my Dad as he is due to have a hip replacement operation this coming week. He is going into hospital on Tuesday 9 October and will probably have the op the next day. After that he will need about 6 weeks convalescence. Please pray the op is a success and that he makes a speedy recovery. Also pray for him and my Mom to come to the Lord as I don't think they are saved.:crossrc: :crosseo:  :prayer:
I will be praying for your Dad, and your whole family! I will also be praying for his surgeons, doctors and other caregivers for strength, and wisdom as they take care of your Father. I will pray that the Lord makes his strength known to you as your father is in surgery -- that you experience peace instead of worry! Also praying of course for a complete recovery from this surgery and your Dad feeling better than he has in a long time, I'm sure!!! :)

Amen.

Father, be here with us while we talk and debate; fill us with the security of knowing we abide in You. Only in knowing that can we love one another as You have commanded us to do, Lord.

We are Your children, Father God, and we are crying out for more love to give one another. More love, more forgiveness, more grace, given willingly in the perfect Name of Jesus Christ.

Thank You, Lord.

Amen.

Okay...I have a prayer request, but here's the background....

This past Wednesday I had a TB test done. (It is a test to see if you have tuberclusis *sp?*) Because I work in a Preschool environment, it's mandatory that we get it. If the bump they inject under your skin disappears then you're alright, and if you still have a bump then they measure it to determine if you're postive/negative. My bump of course didn't go away. (This happened the last time) The nurse measured it and it was 12mm.....15mm means you have been exposed. So you see how very close I am to being in the "red" zone. I have to see the doctor this Tuesday to discuss things with him. Although I was considered negative, it was still too close. It was explained to me that I may not be infected with TB, but possibly been exposed to it. There is a preventive medicine you can take for 6 months, but I don't think it will guarantee that I couldn't get TB later in my life.

Anyway, please pray that God gives me peace about this new situation that has cropped up. Pray that God gives the doctor the wisdom to know what needs to be done. I'm okay...just alittle bummed about it.

:)

I imagine this is very stressful for you to deal with... Please know that I will be praying for you, £amb. :prayer:
May God bless you with comfort from worry, peace no matter what happens, and healing if need be!
I'll say a few prayers for your doctors as well -- for wisdom to know exactly what to do to decrease the possibility of developing this disease you may have been exposed to. Hang in there, £amb. We're all here for you!

Hi everyone,
Just updating on my husband's condition, and what's going on...
He will be going in for an ultrasound this morning, and a visit with a GI Specialist immediately following.

Please pray that the ultrasound and/or the doctor's exam can discover the cause of the problems with his pancreas. Please also pray for wisdom for his doctor so that he will order the right tests if further testing is needed, and that he can make the right diagnosis so we can move forward to doing the things that will help make my husband better!

Please also remember to praise and thank the Lord with me for the blessing that my husband is not in any real pain right now -- I have heard that it is VERY rare for his pancreatic enzyme level to be this high with no pain... (He does wake up with pain and heaviness in his chest, but no excruciating abdominal pain... (This pain doesn't appear at this point to be related to the pancreas problems, but if it weren't for this pain we may not have known there was a problem with his pancreas, so we ARE thankful for the symptom even if it is pain!)

I have some great news to report!

My husband's ultrasound came back perfectly fine! The GI Specialist doesn't want to "chase a lab result" right now, so we are going to take a conservative wait and see approach especially since my husband is not symptomatic at this point. He's on a fast track for an endoscopy if needed to check out the chest pain factor if it gets bad again as well (he only needs to call and schedule the procedure not return for an office visit first). So this is all good news. We are going to take a pro-active approach and concentrate on lowering the levels of fat in our whole family's diet, just because it'll be good for him, and good for the rest of us as well.

I greatly appreciate everyone's prayers in regards to this matter. I've been a lot less worried than how I usually am in these types of situations, and again I can ONLY explain it by giving the Lord the praise He deserves in it!!!

Thanks again for all your prayers! I hope you all have a blessed week!

God bless you all,
Tange

PS -- Still praying Lamb. I totally understand what you mean about things not being as bad when you actually get in to the doctor! That is SO frustrating at times! I've had that happen and I end up feeling like a liar or something! LOL I'm not glad the bump hasn't gone away for you, but glad as you are that at least the doctor will be able to actually see it... I'll be thinking of, and praying for you!

PPS -- I've forgotten to ask so many times now... Do you remember where you got the picture that is in your signature? It looks so much like my kitty that I freaked out the first time I saw it! ROFL I still can't help but to think that's a picture of him everytime I see it! LOL
