Romans 14:22 Hast thou faith? have it to thyself before God. Happy is he that condemneth not himself in that thing which he alloweth.

What does this vs. mean to you? What parts of the bible do you think that it is in effect with?

In a more modern translation the verse reads

Rom 14:22 So whatever you believe about these things keep between yourself and God. Blessed is the man who does not condemn himself by what he approves.

Paul has been writing about the issue of food offered to idols. Some were saying it was OK, others were saying "no way". Paul allows each person to come to their own decision on the matter, taking into account the concerns and welfare of the other.

As a final statement Paul in verse 22 is saying, "Come to your own decision, don't go trumpeting it around as the 'right or best one'. But make sure you have got it well sorted out in your own mind, so that you are not in the position of stating one thing yet are having inner doubts at the same time.

Pretty sensible advice.
